  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Another one on the TXC310 bandwagon, yahooo

New '12 TXC310, Happy New Year****************************************.......... Just couldn't pass up the deal on the leftover '12s. Thought about the WR300 but too much the same as my '09. So it had to be the TXC310. It's been 8 yrs since I got back into the dirt, went from a '02 KTM 520EXC to the '05 300EXC, then the '09 WR 2 yrs ago. Figured I've earned something new. Reading the great threads on CH & figuring out my game plan on mods & such. Kelly @Motosportz will b getting some of my dough. Also ZipTy for the tank elbow, and others I haven't realized yet. The only way I was gonna get another 4T was if it was NEW. Got a few things I have to do b4 I can get her dirty. I'll try to keep the dumb ?s to a minimum, lol. This is going to be fun, & don't worry, the WR won't be ignored. It will be my race bike for a couple months until the TXC gets broken in & ready for battle...IMG_0032.JPG Now I just gotta make room in the garage:D

Great bike I'm sure after owning the 250 models ... I'd like one but I don't see them for sell nearly as often as the 250s ... Husky should be riding these models up and over the competitors bikes ... Such as what they did by removing the TE250 from the line up ...

Congrats! I look forward to what you have to say in your ride report as compaired to your WR250. Enjoy :applause:.

So I've decided on the Cycra ProBends, and from what I can tell the TXC has Magura bars. Cycra has many different mounts, just wanted to get the right ones. Also any preference on brand of shock springs, I'll need to go up a step or two. Will be calling Motosportz tomorrow for a skid plate & rad guards.

I used the center reach 1-1/8" mount on mine. Not any different for the magura. Only thing is you can not run a bar pad with the center reach mount. You definintly need a rear brake sharkfin.

Getting my parts list together, anybody have a preference on hour meters? Lots of 'em out there, figure I hafta have one since it's a new 4st:thinking:

The trail tech GPS and other devices (Vapor for one example) they sell have an hour meter on them and that's what I use for one bike ... Another bike I have will have just the trailtech hr meter ... I've had good luck with their stuff and motorsportz sells some of their stuff ... Support by both companies has been about as good as possible ...

Thanks ray ray, will be calling Motosportz tomorrow, I'll see if they have one to add to my list of skidplate rad guards along with the front axle nut & wrench..............$$$$$$$ hahaha hmmm plus maybe a Lectron for the 3hunred........

Well, got some goodies on the way. Skid plate, Rad guards, axle nut (backordered) & wrench from Motosportz. Tank elbow (backordered) & air filter bolt from Zip-Ty, Shock spring & handguards from PartsUnlimited. Did a heat cycle by doing 2nd gear figure 8s in the back yard (sorry honey) and will put some easy time on it tomorrow scouting trail & putting up arrows for the Alligator. By then should be ready for it's 1st oil change. So far I think I'm really gonna like this bike, it's so damn good looking I almost hate to get it dirty, lol.........

Finally got the 310 on the trails today, was doing some Alligator layout work so it became my mule. This morning was just exploring for a bit, walking & clearing & putting up arrows. Repeat a few times then back to the trucks for lunch. After lunch of course we had to ride what we just laid out, make sure it flowed good, know whatImean. I have to admit the hydro clutch took some getting used to, stalled it a bunch of times, dooh. But I sure like the way this thing handles, it's quick & nimble. Can't wait to get my "fatboy" spring on. I also like the power, it's just different than the 300. Will probably be faster on this bike, but believe it's due more to the handling of the newer chassis instead of the motor. It does make ya wonder what a 300 2st in a new frame would be like....

Sounds good keep the ride reports coming

Makes complete sense.

The new frames turn a lot better.

The high gearing and tight motor help it stall a lot.

Just pray the E-Start continues to work well.

Also, loosen that upper oil feed banjo bolt on the head and turn the line completely counter clockwise than re-tighted the bolt to keep the feed line from backing out and you loosing all of your oil in your brand new in like 20sec....don't ask me how I know.

R I was looking at that oil line, I'll check that out. As far as gearing I was gonna go to a 48 out back, since Hall's has OEM for 29.99!!! here in Floriduh the highest points r landfills........

Just picked up a '12 txc310 myself. Haven't got to ride it yet, but boy it sure feels tall and the battery wouldn't start the bike once we got it home ? Not sure why, but we through it on the battery charger for a little bit and it started right up. It doesn't help that it's
Im 5'7" 140lbs and am coming off a yz250 that i had set up for woods riding so i hope i like this better. Please tell me anything i should be aware of with this bike, such as break in times, or things to lock tight, or extra grease in certain areas, etc. I have a list of mods that I'd like to do to this bike in time a well. I'm thinking enduro engineering handguards, enduro engineering radiator guards, enduro engineering skid plate, enduro engineering oil guard, fmf exhaust + JD EFI tuner, suspension setup by Factory Connection, and just personal preferences I want to anodize the rims black and im going to swap out the old styled front fender with a newer front fender off a yz450f. I love the looks of those fenders. But than that will be it.

Connor - if your battery is about shot just get a lightweight one (I went with a Ballistic 4 cell from RockyMountain but they seem need to be softly mounted - some prefer the 8 cell). The bike (engine and suspension) needs about 10 to 12 hours to loosen up - I rode mine for 20 - 30 minute intervals at no more than about half throttle until I had about 4 hours on it before I started exploring the full potential and changed the oil every 2 hours. (It's only a quart and a pain) If I remember right I put an exhaust on at about 20 hours and honestly picked up what seems like 3hp from bottom to top. All new bikes need full grease - get a metal fuel pump elbow from ZipTy or Husky (I try to support ZipTy) and install it the first time you take off the tank - or when you install the JD tuner. At 80 hours I've never had a Husky problem - the first time I re-installed the fuel tank I didn't get the fuel hose fully clicked back in (not cool) - a Ballistic battery developed an internal vibration induced open circuit (bike idled fine and revved out fine but would stumble in mid range). Oops - one problem - a leaky fork seal at about 20 hours - but it was a good time to have the suspension done anyway. And get some spare lower radiator black plastic side covers - they catch on stuff and break.
ENJOY :)

This bike seems very cold natured. It's about 27 degrees out here with snow but the bike sits inside a heated garage and yet it's still a little tough to start and needs plenty of time to warm up. Besides that I like it. Once my yz250 sells (if it sells) I will do some of the upgrades I mentioned earlier. I really hope I like this bike once i ride it :(

I have not experianced "real" cold but mine fires instanaly at all temps even down to the mid 30s F. Are you using the cold start lever? Red lever over the clutch were most bikes have a "hot" start lever.

Could be the fuel mapping. Maybe there is another member on here that has ibeat and lives close to you or maybe a dealer has knowledge of how to properly tune. there is lots of great info on here in regards to tuning the FI on these bikes. You would just need the software and cable to do it yourself. And of course a lap top. And your YZ will sell once the weather breaks. I sold my '03 for over 1500 bucks last year on ebay. They are awesome bikes that work great in the woods.

I agree, I do like my yz right now, but i think i will like the husky more when i get it setup correctly. I got this from ridersville in WV and ive seen some other pple on here get these bikes from him. Great guy and a very talented rider in the technical stuff, and he has a 310 as well (that i believe one of the members on here bought) and he tried mine before i left that day and he said it worked just like it should. Called him back when i got it home after it wouldn't start and he was surprised to hear that too. I think it just needs some break in time and some riding on it.
