• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Any more 630 news as yet?

I don't even know when that show is, when is it?

Those shows seem a bit $ for manufacturers to go to. I certainly have no inside information.

It's this weekend:applause: (starts in half an hour! http://www.motorcycleshows.com/LongBeach

I'm gonna be there Sat. Anybody else going?

The booth is by a dealer, not really a factory effort so I highly doubt the 630 will be there. But we can hope:notworthy:

Take your camera!

I seriously doubt a 630 will be there if it is this weekend...

Let us know how it goes

Bring your camera and take some close up photos showing various parts/components of the bike that have not been displayed by current promoters.

Anything special you want a photo of ?

The TE630 is going to be 50/50 for Toronto. Some woman from the Husq Factory called me today and told me that DHL was flying 2 bikes to Canada this weekend and wanted to know my address to deliver them on Monday. I know that one is a 2010 SMR510, but I am not sure about the other one.

I'll start camping in your lot Sunday night

Seriously though, I gotta get a second battery.;)

It doesn't seem like selling motorcycles is all that difficult. Put a hot girl in a skimpy outfit. More/better looking girls = sales :excuseme:

Men are not all that complicated:lol:

If it were up to me I'd put the bike in a kiddie pool with 9" of mud in it and have the girls crawl around pointing and go "look at that great ground clearance!"

Please to share pictures! :D

Sad to say the show was pretty lame compared to previous years.

What is this world coming to? Ducati had ONE girl in their whole frikken booth and she was serving coffee rather than being properrly spotlit and on a rotating pedestal ! I think this recession must be worse than I thought!

I dunno who these people are but they have a much better business plan than Ducati.

Mine was the only 610 I saw all day

No 630, but honestly it was one of the better booths there, and it sure is nice to see Husky gettin the name out.

This is a picture of me getting caught being not so stealthy:huh

Del Amo Motorsports brought the genuine Del Amo Shopping experience.

OK, I think this guy does not understand the proper Ducati/show Model/Camera relationship.:p

I can't believe how theseguys miss the boat every year. How many more bikes could they sell if they were on the floor at the same time as the Japanese bikes? I am sure they could do 2X more business if they took the U.S. market (largest market for high priced dirt bikes in the world) more seriously. Californians buy more bikes every year than all of Europe combined. Someone should really get in gear, run more ads, and hire a high-end rider like Reed or Stuart. They would have to build another plant to keep up with production. I've never seen a company with such a great product be so nonchalant about getting it to market on time. Too bad I'm not in charge.

None of the Euro Mfg'rs understand the US Market... If you think Husky is bad, try Triumph... They delay production of the 1600 Thunderbird cruiser for almost four years - Thats how long they were talking about it in dealer meetings.. You don't know how many people walked out of our local Triumph dealership because there was nothing between the 900cc America and 2200cc Rocket III (of which I am a proud owner of a Turbocharged version). So when do the Aholes introduce it - when the world economy tanks and the US cruiser market drops 48 percent. The bike is the toast of the town with the MC rags, but the market has dried in half**************************************** The Euro mfg'ers dance to their own drummer and I can point to many times where their decisions really cost them...

Mike...

and then there's the French...

I have a friend who works for McDonalds in Chicago.

Someone got the bright idea that if they standardized ALL of their serving equipment they could save the System many millions of dollars.

So they did, but the french refuse to work with White tubs of onions, they must be red in france, and cost $3 more per tub

course he has stories about the US as well, they can't pre-mix salt and pepper in the meat, because someone would sue them for it not being 100% beef.
