I pulled the valve cover on my '10 TC 250 last night just to see what was underneath http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6324.
This afternoon I put everything back together (or so I thought) and kicked it ONCE to start it up. After about 25 seconds of the motor running flawlessly, I notice a puddle of warm oil developing under the bike before my very eyes!
I immediately shut the bike down and start investigating and find this lying on the jackstand:
I immediately disassemble down to the valve train and start looking around to find the place that the "extra part" goes....
When I took the valve cover off the first time, it was NOT obvious that the gasket was part of the process. Thank God it fell on the jackstand in an obviously visible location.
Now you know!
