• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Banning California! Interesting town!

Now I know all about banning!

For those who may not know the weather in California was not the best for the ride back and some of the roads were closed. Ioneater & fitness2go & I made it to my house about 3am today.

There is a good chance they are getting close to their homes about now.

We called them about 11am or so yesterday and they were getting ready to pull into MotoXotica. They seemed to be having a good time.
Of course, fitness2go could manage to have a good time no matter what, I'm sure. That guy is a non-stop barrell of fun and energy:lol:

I think there were a couple of people like that. :busted::doh:

Made it back to the big grayness at 4:30 a.m.! Stopped into MotoXotica to meet Dan and Ann and peruse the shop for treasure. Picked up a set of pivot pegs and a gunsight for the front fender. Nice folks! Between California lawmakers and Husky/BMW corporate BS Dan's quite frustrated with not being able to get 09's onto the floor. They remind me of Tasky's in many good ways.

Fog was NASTY in WA nearly all the way up to Olympia. Roads were in great shape and no major traffic to deal with so all in all went smoother than I expected. Time for sleep now!

Thanks George and Mike for an epic Baja moto. Great to meet all in the group, what a fun adventure, great for every rider to see some changing terrain Baja offers, rocks, fast sandy sections, mud, water crossings, and Coco's was great. Cant wait to see all the photos and vids. George next time you go swimming let us know so we can get the camera ready...

Took Nick & I 15 hrs. from border to get to N. Ca. Hwy 5 clossed at Grapevine and everyone including us took 101...s-l-o-w.

What a great time with a bunch of great people. I'm terible with names so I wont even try but everyone was a good time on wheels. Glad to see that everyone is getting home ok, hopfully "half ass" jim is a quarter ass by now.

Funny thing (well not to me but its still funny) my truck was fine in san filipe, got home and parked it and that night someone hit my truck out front of my house. Its not bad, but I'd a rather hit something myself than to have a hit and run at home.

I"d also like to give a shout out to the medics, those boots saved my feet :applause:.

Last and certainly not least, thanks to George and Mike for puting this together and Coffee for giving us a place on the net to call home. I can't wait to do it again.

Grainy and out of focus but here they are.

I didn't realize Blake started a ride report thread until after I posted the pic's, so I moved them over there.

Excellent photos, FTC! Thanks for posting them!

I posted a bunch of mine in the Baja Husky Ride Report thread that Blake started.

Keep `em comin'!

If one of the trucks you saw was a huge black F350 with a black shell, that was us:)

I saw a Suzuki with CycleWest stickers on the front fender and wondered if the gang at the Pemex was from the Bay Area...

WoodsChick

Yes we are, it was a North Bay Motorcycle Club ride.

For all of those who have download the photos I posted, I have received a CD of more photos taken by Palmer84one. I have updated the site with a zip file of his photo's, so if you want them you should go back and download them.

Thanks,
Blake
