• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Baja husky ride!

departure times

Hey George, page 1 still says departure time for caravan 1 is 9 am. Is departure time for caravan 2 at Calexico still 2 pm? Prolly a good idea to keep page 1 updated, that way everyone can keep checking the same place for the most current info. Thanks

 US  I'm pretty well in the same boat... would have like to spend a beautiful Vacation with all other Husky riders. instead hanging out at home on crutches.

I feel for you, `Dude. I spent my 2-week summer vacation in Idaho hobbling around the campsite on crutches and in a wheelchair while everyone else went out riding on some of the sweetest singletrack on earth. Sitting by the campfire at night listening to the stories hurt more than all the metal in my ankle, for sure.

Keep your eyes on the prize and you'll be back in the saddle before you know it

WoodsChick - could you update post #1? I'm not sure Mike will be able to get to a computer tonight and I'm not following all the details too close.

I just looked at post #1 again, Mike has been updating it. I cannot keep track of all the peoples itineraries getting down there but am keeping track of the 2 Pacific NW people and our little group from the SF Bay area that I'm going down with.

Just thought I'd mention that in case someone was expecting me to be doing something.

FYI,

F2G and I are prepping to launch between midnight and 0100 Thursday like we discussed earlier. Will be making a short stop in Vancouver, WA for "stuff" and continuing the southbound trek for link-up 1100-1330. BBBRRRRAAAAAPPPPP:cheers:

Main reason for 07:00 is to get to Calexico to go across at around 12:00 for first group also thoes who are their. Later George

Current plan for the northern people:
Ion Eater & fitness2go will call me mid morning (I've got their cell #s), and if things go well will hook up with the SF Bay area group at my house about 1PM. I or someone else that has not driven all night can drive their vehicle while they sleep.

Then 2 vehicles can caravan down to so cal & all spend night at the so cal location.

Done!

And, yes, Caravan #2 will depart Calexico at 2pm sharp. Don't be late, either, `cuz I got a hot date with an adult beverage in San Felipe before the sun goes down

I am working right now...and can't stop thing about this. My dad and friend are on their way down here and are staying the night, and we are leaving tomorrow morning. CANT WAIT!!!

George, or anybody riding down with Mike, please give me a call when Mike is ready to leave from George's shop. Mike's picking me up in Oceanside on the way South but I'm not sure if he'll be here at 11am as planned or perhaps earlier as some are leaving from George's at 7am. This morning I realized I've got Mike's home # and not his current cell and of course he's not at home

Blake called and gave me Mike's new number, thanks Blake!

Thanks,

Brett

Hope everyone has a great ride. Unfortunately due to some unavoidable bs :censored::censored::censored::censored: I wont be able to make this one. DAMN.!! Have a few adult beverages for me !

That way us losers can watch it in 3D.:excuseme:
Just a suggestion
