• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Baja husky ride!

Just got off the phone with Tony at Rancho Grande( Gonzaga Bay) approx 100 miles into ride. They don't have any gas the store will be open cokes water snacks ect. Tony went across the street to the Pemex station to check for us they said they have 2000 liters and will be open 7am to 7pm for us Sat and Sun. Talked to Antonio at Alfonsinas(on the beach at Gonzoga bay) he's set up and ready for us for brunch or lunch Tacos and Mexican food no Big Macs. Rained couple days ago so the water in Calamajue should be down to the bottom of gas tank (BIG PHOTO OP TIME)
Tony said COCO is back at his place so we will definatly stop and say HI, this is the only time I ever ask anyone to spend any money T-shirts and Stickers if he has any T-shirts $25.00? he's just the best you won't regret it. Someone remind me to get some beer at Casa Grande better yet everyone get a beer and we will drop them off to Coco's if we get 40+ riders it will keep him stocked for a while. Later George

George,
Have fun! Someday, some way, I'll make it out, 125 and all for one of these deals. I guess I have to get out of the shade of these big trees sometime!:D

Can the chase trucks get to Cocos? I'd love to meet him.

Baja Ride

Hey guys and gals. Can't make what sounds to be an epic Baja ride :applause:

Anywho, I live in Campo, which is about halfway between San Diego and Calexico, along Interstate 8. If anyone was coming down a little early and gets into San Diego on Thursday night and does not want to spend any more money on hotel room(s) etc. call me and I'll put you up at my place, then send you on your way to Calexico on Friday.

I don't want to interfere with this epic ride, just throwing out a friendly invite to anyone needing a place to stay for a night, before heading into Baja or linking up with others at the border on Friday.

Stay safe out there, Mitch. cell (619) 820-3679.

Yay! Calamajue :applause: I had no idea we'd be going through there! I'm bringing a raft so I can float across:p Can't wait to see it:D

Should we bring cat food for the kitty at Coco's?

Have a great time you guys. Maybe I can make one of these trips one day, has always been a dream of mine. Be safe, watch out for banditos :ride:

George, Tami, thanks for all the help getting back to riding again

...water to the bottom of the tank...Greg will love that!

Looks like I better bring my water wings! Wonder if I should tape up the hole in my airbox from the stock pipe if we're really going to cross that thing.

Hey George Nick and I will see all of you guys at Uptite...I need a rear brake peddle for the '08 TE. Do you have one? I'll call you on the way down, wont check this site.
Jim.

I just looked at post #1 again, Mike has been updating it. I cannot keep track of all the peoples itineraries getting down there but am keeping track of the 2 Pacific NW people and our little group from the SF Bay area that I'm going down with.

Just thought I'd mention that in case someone was expecting me to be doing something.

Urgent request

Can anyone going on this ride bring a 12V DC to 115V AC power inverter? I just remembered mine is flaky and need to charge camera & other batteries in a chase truck. Does not need to be capable of large power output.

Up-date Up-Tite is leaving at 07:00 am Friday, for thoes non Husky riders it means the big hand is on 12 and little hand is on 7. Later George

 US  I'm pretty well in the same boat... would have like to spend a beautiful Vacation with all other Husky riders. instead hanging out at home on crutches.

Crutches are no excuse, Coffee should be in a wheel chair and he's driving a chase truck. You could ride with him. Later George

I'm not quite that bad off, but won't be wearing any shorts either. Think one of our esteemed Cafe Husky members threw up a little when I showed him my leg.

Looks like high 40's at night along the coast. High 60's, low 70's for the day.

Depends on how much anti-freeze is in you.

What are the night temps? Are t-shirts and shorts good for after the ride?

Add a few `rita's to that ensemble and I think you'll be quite comfortable :D
