• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

BRMoto Beefy Rear Rack... truly beefy :)

What are the approximate dimensions of the aluminum plate? Wondering in case I find a deal on a case in the next coupe weeks.

All I can add to this is the issue of the rear support and the Tail Tidy. I use the SW Motech rack system and they had the support going to the OEM rear fender so as mounted, I have retained the mount for rigidity but it does look a bit strange. I was just talking about this issue to a friend who rides and welds as a profession. He indicated he could redo the existing rear mounts to come together on the bottom mount in the triangular license plate mount of the Tail Tidy but is still considering other options.

so, what sort of bag/panniers fit on this? Brother#1 has some really good touratech boxes on his BMW, but how can I tell if they'd work on this rack?

edit:
so it looks like this rack is made of 3/4 inch tubes. that's 19mm or so, and touratech only has an 18mm moutning bracket. wtf.

TT....Proprietary hardware! Always...just work around this if you want TT boxes...should work

Just add 1-2mm rubber washers or sheet... between pannier and plastic pucks.
Wolfman soft luggage looks like the ticket for the racks....top rack anything you can strap down...will work

Hi Berg,
Just ordered your side racks and wolfman bags. They already shipped. Will this beefier rear rack work with my new side racks? What will it cost me?
Thanks,
Dean

The BR moto racks are made for the Wolfman products and distributed as Wolfman racks elsewhere. I fitted my racks on Friday, bolted straight on. Even noticed the plates for the front upper mounts are ready to take the BR Moto top rack as well if desired, so yes, I'd say all you need to do is order the top rack and there will be no mods required

Touratech makes a TR650 rack. If you want to use their boxes, I'd suggest their rack.

About a week out, everything still on schedule?
That is my distinct impression based on my latest communication which was yesterday.

Berg is super busy the rest of the week, so if you could hold off communications until next week that would be great.

Any news Coffee?
Have one trip to the Loast Coast/USAL Road coming up in 10 days and one in the middle of October down to Baja where I will really need the beefy rack to carry some spare fuel.

Just talked to him yesterday (or the day before), and it is my understanding that they could be shipping soon. *Real* soon.

BRMoto seems to do what they say, and say what they will do, in an accurate and timely basis, and produces outstanding quality products. I Wish all vendors were like that, but getting all those attributes from one company or person seems a rare occurrence these days.

I agree. Thanks Coffee.

And look what showed up in my inbox 2.5 hours after I made the post I am quoting. Please note that I specifically requested a cheap slow shipping method so as not to waste $, because of my personal schedule.
