• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

If 10 guys sign on for it, i will take it on.

Kinda fits with Husky if ya think about it.

Maybe contact TLD and see if we can get full on Cafe Husky race jerseys with flannel plaid background?

Ten of ya dare to be differnt?

I'd wear it proudly

There was an old guy that would sometimes show up for D36 enduros and he'd wear jeans, linemens boots and a flannel shirt. He was always around at the end, too.

I once drove all the way to Utah to ride with this guy (first person I ever met through the internet) that was touted as the Guru of Utah trails. I get there and he's barely taller than me, long hair, riding a brand new XR400 that's way too tall for him. Turns out it was his dad's but he had one just like it. He's wearing jeans, hiking boots, a sweatshirt, backpack and a BMX helmet with sunglasses. I though, "Oh, great...who is this clown?" Well, he turned out to be one of the most naturally talented riders I've ever had the pleasure to watch. Excellent skills, great trail knowledge, a zen-like quality to his riding that was almost mesmerizing to watch, he rode that XR400 through Five Miles Of Hell as if he was on a trials bike, barely dabbing where the rest of us were flailing wildly and wondering if we were going to make it out before dark. I never laughed at his gear after that:) A few years later he put out a DVD called Access Addiction and he got some help to do it from MSR. He now wears full MSR gear.

Totally in for that! I'd buy one!

I think I have to jump in on that one as well.

Takes me back to my roots.

I used to race MX on my KDX200 with bib carharts, flannel shirt, boots, gloves and a helmet. I didn't need goggles because my huge glasses were just fine. I think I have more money invested in riding gear now than that bike cost.

Later,

Wow Jake...I'm speechless! You actually are getting better looking as you get older while I'm going the opposite direction. Classic priceless pictures...thanks for sharing some giggles.

Jake, if the northwest had a super hero you would be it. Flying through the air with your flannel cape. Great pic.

Maybe we should all just get our own red/white/black flannel and then post pics? Make it a sticky?

I'm still gonna look into making actual race jerseys with a flannel theme, dont worry. :)

Great find on the Thor/Travis pic.

These guys will make custom flannel red/white/black full on race jerseys (they make Bubbas and Windhams custom jerseys) with any icons or logos ya want and your name and or number on the back, dyed (not heat treated) in -- plus they have 3 types of fabric. Any type of collar and wrist. Longer rears if wanted to tuck in--basically state of the art full on race jeseys fully customized. (3 hours artwork-and they can be flexible with individual sponsors' logo's etc. included)
http://www.hotshoppedesigns.com/

Cost is $58.50 + $10 for custom name/number (any color or font, and it can be different font/color for each guy/gal) if wanted. THATS A SMOKIN DEAL********************************************************************************!!

BUT---the order must be 25 or more.

IF the order is 12 or more, its $78 + $10.
-------------
If there is enough interest, i will take on the project. Its 50% deposit to start. Takes 6 weeks.
Wooo. Hoooo.
I'm thinking of useing the Woolridge Flannel Red/white/black in the above link as the basic design, then customize with my name, and some sponsors, and maybe Cafe Husky. Just to give ya an idea what they would look like, of course open to other ideas as well.

Wow! Nice stuff! Even their semi-custom jersey selection is good...especially the "Ramp" style and colors.

I'd be willing to pay $60 for a jersey. $78?...mmm...not so much. How could you not giggle non-stop while wearing a custom flannel Husky jersey with your name on the back? :D

Sign me up!
