• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I think I have to jump in on that one as well.

Takes me back to my roots.

I used to race MX on my KDX200 with bib carharts, flannel shirt, boots, gloves and a helmet. I didn't need goggles because my huge glasses were just fine. I think I have more money invested in riding gear now than that bike cost.

This was my practice attire.

Those photos definitely belong in a thread titled "Funny pic" for sure

Thanks for posting them

Mike I'm in for the 50% deposit. Just let me know when this whole thing gets going and I'll send a check or PayPal. I think this is a great idea and love to be "different" than all the other Honda loving track riders my age...kids these days...

I am in, I still have flannels as well in my closet (wrong colors). If I was into that "body in shape" thing some of you are doing I might be able to put one on.

Click on the red/white/black shirt at the bottom. I just ordered one!

----------
Great find on the Thor/Travis pic.
-----------
These guys will make custom flannel red/white/black full on race jerseys (they make Bubbas and Windhams custom jerseys) with any icons or logos ya want and your name and or number on the back, dyed (not heat treated) in -- plus they have 3 types of fabric. Any type of collar and wrist. Longer rears if wanted to tuck in--basically state of the art full on race jeseys fully customized. (3 hours artwork-and they can be flexible with individual sponsors' logo's etc. included)
http://www.hotshoppedesigns.com/

Cost is $58.50 + $10 for custom name/number (any color or font, and it can be different font/color for each guy/gal) if wanted. THATS A SMOKIN DEAL********************************************************************************!!

BUT---the order must be 25 or more.

IF the order is 12 or more, its $78 + $10.
-------------
If there is enough interest, i will take on the project. Its 50% deposit to start. Takes 6 weeks.
Wooo. Hoooo.
I'm thinking of useing the Woolridge Flannel Red/white/black in the above link as the basic design, then customize with my name, and some sponsors, and maybe Cafe Husky. Just to give ya an idea what they would look like, of course open to other ideas as well.

Once again, count me in! Must have a gunsight on it! Let me know when/how to make deposit.....groovy!

Our local HS series (WYNOA) had a guy we called "Farmer Dave".... jeans, fannel shirt, work boots and an open face helmet. The guy was quite the rider and evryone cheered him on. He even got some pics on the GNCC site, as Unadilla is a co-sanction with our series. He quit riding our series, as they first made him get riding boots and then told him an open face helmet was not safe. Too bad, nice guy.
Did that guy ride a slighty older non-conspicuous looking KTM? If yes I wonder if he is the guy I saw at the Unadilla GNCC the 1st year they held it. 2006 maybe. I remember seeing a guy that fits that description. He finished the race if I remember correctly.

Regarding the pic of the guy that started this thread, me thinks he went shopping for a chain saw and ended up in a race. :D

Hey check this guy out. He's got the idea.

a race going on jump in finish it still make the
hardware store before it closes and head home

just gabbing with the boys. Ha, Ha.

OK-so behind the scenes plenty of PM's and chat with Coffee and all that getting things ironed out.

We are doing this********************************************************************************!

Not exactly sure how or what the final thing will be, but for sure there will be lots more info soon, like in a day or two.

Stay posted. Whats old is new again. Isnt flannel the original performance fiber?

I'm in for one. Somehow I missed you were actually doing an order for plaid jerseys. This sounds most excellent.
