• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Golden Tyre GT216AA review

Just watched the Vegas to Reno vid Robert posted. The terrain could not be more different than what I ride so it will be a good test for the tire to see how it spans over different types of terrain.

It's not a one terrain type of tire. It was originally created for wet grass and mud. The tire performs everywhere from slimy forests to the Sahara.

Guys several questions please.
Do Golden make a matching rear tyre?
How does it rate
and where can I get some in Oz.
PS I am back to bridgetones up front and Milvilles rear-pretty good but would love to hear from the collective brains trust out there in Cafe land

told ya Chile Blanco would love that front for Dez stuff. You guys all ready know that about it. Marco is building good tyres.
I heard of Golden Tyre when they sponsored the revival of pro Supermoto here. May have to try it because mine are about done :). The reviews so far are great, waiting on motosportz review. Sounds like a great southern CO tire :)

GT does make a matching rear tire, GT723, we ran it for our Vegas to Reno race. I think it's a pretty good tire, good grip and very light weight. It is not for sand though. These are rally tires, not something I would run unless I was dual sporting or racing a long ways. And I like the Dunlop 908RR better anyway.

I'm in! Going to ZipTy today to get me one. I'm still running the Karoo with almost 1400 miles on it. I've gotten pretty good at 2 wheel drifting, but an more than ready to turn like a regular bike again.

I'm also finally getting a gas cap and a bottle of XF. So I'll not only be able to turn, but I can run in hot temps, and get gas without taking 5 minutes to try not to cross thread the lousy stock gas cap.

Grab the magnetic oil filer cover too if you dont have it. Keeps your oil crazy clean.

I just changed oil and had one paper filter left from getting bulk deal from you. I figure by the next time I'm up for a change, I'll have pennies saved for the magnetic cover, stainless filter and an Earth x.

I was only able to find these tires at one place in Canada, but I was shocked at how expensive they were. Is that the case, or is this guy just trying to gouge people?

The rear's in 18/19" were in the $130-$140 range.

How will that front front work at the Unadilla GNCC? Alot of off camber, rocks, and roots and again unreal slippery, round, muddy, rocks from hell in the back section like greased bowling bowls. Almost as bad as Blackwater. If it rains it is a survival run and what I want. I'm like that.

We ran it at X-games and like I said before, it was originally designed for wet grass tracks & mud.

I'll order a few front and rears. I started out racing with Barums, think CZ, so we'll see how these stack up. Yes I'm old. LOL. The Unadilla GNCC is just a bragging rights race for my crew for fun as we are in our 60's and I need every advantage I can get. My buddies are pretty tuff, always trophy. All fun.

How many GT fronts you have left over there? I got one back when you just got a shipment of 100 tires in but you must be going through them pretty quick yes? Just trying to gauge when to reorder next years tires.
