• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

GS-911 service tool

I used the full 911 app ( not the beta) and managed to clear all the fault codes ( can't remember which BMW model though. It may have been from the top autoscan. I couldn't find one that would let me reset the bloody service reminder though. Email said they were going to address thr TR but haven't got to it yet. Too many new BMW models.

Word leaked to me is that the gs911 for BMW (and Terra), is only days away. Hexcode is super busy and I was asked to withhold all emails etc as they roll this out.

I sure hope this is going to happen.

I have had my hopes up before, so maybe this time...

I checked hexcode website. On the release of their new model it references the TR650. It indicates it has Husqvarna TR650 vin parsing. Okay I am assuming it can read our vin numbers or is it something else?

I talked to Ted at Beemer Shop today. He is the distributer for the gs911 stateside. The new software came out on the 9th, and he does not know if we would be able to do anything with the Husky. The GS911 should recognize our bike, but what things we could adjust reset etc would be the question. He said if somebody wanted to come by towards the end of the week, he would be happy to test it out on a Husky. Give him a heads up if you are in the San Francisco area.

Wow, San Francisco eh? That'd be a heck of a road trip for me. I really want this thing to work. It will reveal so much about our bikes...

The hexcode will read the VIN and a few other things and will clear fault codes and report fault codes at the top menu. But it won't reference the TR properly yet. Certainly won't clear the servive code or let you input a new date.

Well, it's a first step. Let's hope they'll continue developing for the TR.

iving in SF i'd gladly donate my bike, had it not been written off in august. You might want to try member woodschick in east bay. Or coordinator Coffee i believe just up hwy101 in Napa.

Sent second email just now. If I don't hear back by tomorrow afternoon, I will give them a bell.

Got a positive response! Now to make some time in my schedule, prob will not be until first of March.
