I'd use more than a tankful just getting to a station that sells ethanol free gas.

that blows man, i live in the sticks and there are 3 stations within 25 mils that sell E-Free.
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

I've been getting 43 mpg on my strada in the city. How does one get better mileage?

Mine will get worse, trust me. I'm just babying it for the break in. keep it under 5K rpm and it does great, over 5k and it drinks that fuel like a drunken sailor and rum.
I will try one tank at the 55 mph and see if I can hit 70 mpg.
My Beemer was a big disappointment, I was lucky when I hit 38mpg.
I went out this evening, deliberately trying to get the best mileage I could, keeping as close to a steady 55mph as possible. I rode 67.6 miles, and according to the fuel gauge, used 0.93 gallons (US). That's 72.69 mpg. I really like this bike.
Yup, every tank I have run has been worse than the one before.
I started at 58 MPG and was really optimistic, now I am at 46 MPG.
At 58 its range was real close to what my Versys was when the fuel light would come on, about 180 miles.
Now it’s down in the low 140’s.
This is all rural road and dirt road use too.
I know I do run the revs up a little bit more than I did at first (keeping in break in limits), but I don’t think I cruise any faster.
I have to say I am kind of disappointed.
And I was running the revs up much more now. Missed a shift too, yikes!!!
I moved my stock lever 1 notch lower (counter-clockwise) and noticed a tremendous difference for the better. More positive up shifts and way easier to find neutral. For me anyway, ymmv. When I swapped the original shifter for a touratech adjustable, due to the position of the splines in the shift lever I couldn't have the shifter at the same location. It either had to be a little bit higher, or a little bit lower. I tried both. A little bit higher was too high and I really had to concentrate to flick it far enough to engage the next gear. With the lever a bit lower, my upshifts are much more positive.
