    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Heads Up On Televised Racing

The listing says its on CBS this week for the Missouri race. The website time listed is noon but it doesn't say eastern. I just keep checking lol
 
I recently read something about Fox changing speed channel to a general sports channel. I also just saw that the opening round of F-1 will come on NBC sports channel. What does all this mean?
It has gotten to the point that the only reason I have cable is for F-1 and SX/MX.
How close are we to being able to live stream on my TV and is the picture quality as good as HD TV?
 
Several things are happening in TV.

They now refer to sports programming as "appointment TV" meaning you want to watch it live...like soccer or football especially. If you record these and someone tells you who wins you lose intererest in watching the tape. This is why sports franchises like the Yankees and Dodgers got huge ($200 million per YEAR) deals for cable rights. Live TV cannot be fast forwarded as easily to skip commercials so the advertising is more watched.

Apple is certainly interested in TV. According to the CEO they are pursuing a certain vision of TV. This could possibly change the whole subscription deal that we get from typical providers and make things more ala carte but not necessarily cheaper.

4K TVs are out. Twice the resolution but little programming yet. They are not doing 3D in this and they may not.
 
X Games Brazil Endurocross- looks like it may be on ESPNHD Thursday 7PM Eastern time "LIVE" Reading an article on Enduro360.com about Knighter & at bottom of the page it sez 'Watch Live Thursday 4PM Pacific" Checked my TV Guide & shows XGames from Brasil for 3hrs. Fingers crossed & DVR set:popcorn:To me this is a BIG deal but no mention on any Moto site...... we'll see.....
 
Well tried to post a link from Facebook that has an announcement about the x games airing tonight on Espn, on the Facebook page it showed the track and said husky rider Corey Ggraffunder was racing in Brazil.....wanted to post the link but didn't work....any ways it's on....and now I have an excuse to not do yard work.

howd the huskies end up last night? drives me nuts the only race they show on tv is the xgames race. interweb connection is still too slow to mess with any of the streaming events on the puter...:banghead:
