• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Husqvarna TC150

TE150 will be coming my way! The TC150 is so easy to start it almost makes me feel guilty wanting a button.....Na, I want the button(old, short, and fat).

The rod is a new rod to me that Lectron is sending now for the small bore applications. I will get you the code when I get home today.

let me go look them up

Came with a 2-3xl at 2.083 swapped to a 3-2m at 2.054 lowered it 1/2 turn and all is well. The first rod ran ok overall but really was not that big of a deal. The 3-2 is the stuff, much stronger off bottom and really pulls hard all the way untl it revs out.
Much better control at any RPM.

3-2m works best so far in my 165. It's one of the Motosportz rods, in between 3-1xl and 3-2xl according to Lectron.

Yes, the rod Dave sent with mine is the 3-2M. Everything you guys said is true. Really impressive motor with this combination. I am also at 1/2 turn leaner than delivered. Just hate the metering rod carbs as they are such a pain to deal with:rolleyes:. The Smart Carb had more upper mid to top but it was hard to hang onto. Just flat explosive. Great for an MX bike I would think. Corey at Technology Elevated wants another crack at getting the Smart Carb to work for me. So it is off to him but it really was so explosive that it might not be a good fit for this old mans heart:eek: .

With the 3-2M, I was pulling stuff a couple of gears high that was very surprising to me with a 144. Not really trying to test the bottom so much as trying not to stuff the bike up in its infancy. Was a good test and the clutch works well/takes abuse considering that after many years of riding an auto clutch my clutch technique is pretty rusty. Had so much fun though. This bike is just such a constant giggle and smile fest. I absolutely love the linear, never ending power. Kind of just dial what you need when you need it.

Another thing that most of us old guys can appreciate. I have been riding with flexing bars for a few years now and I just take them for granted. Wow but my wrists and elbows were screaming at me after working through some very nasty, washed out, rock climbs and descents. I am still working on getting the suspension right but am fairly impressed with how well the 2016 Husky 4CS is taking adjustments so far. I could certainly ride it as is but I tend to like plusher and that will probably take some valving work(maybe this winter).

I can't imagine anyone riding any of the new framed Huskies/KTM's and not being completely impressed. They really hit it out of the park. So light, flickable, and still feels planted and stable. Everything I love most about the ultra light Italian Huskie small bores. Just to the next step in evolution.

The new chassis turns more like the WR144 did. The new 150 motor is all over the WR and the old 2014 150sx. Stock the power spools up way to fast, control in a rock garden sucks. Drop in the Lectron and its a whole new bike. Like you said gear to high on a hill climb is not a problem with the new motor.
Mine got a 4CS conversion like a Yamaha fork with cones and clickers top and bottom. This is the best bike I have ever ridden. My guy is making a new head insert, one for 50/50 mix of VP and pump gas and one for just VP.
Soon as he has them I will report back.

Is he machining out a whole new insert or re-machining a stock head insert? I would think that there would be S-3 versions available soon too.

He has made inserts in the past ,had one the other day for the 125. Now he has a new 17 150 and it's coming apart next week.
Keep you posted
