• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I know it is a KTM but...

Wow! Brought back some serious memories And yes Huskys is Huskys. Maby if I owned KTM's I woundn't know that!!! Thankyou!!!
I thought you might enjoy that article. I actually have almost every edition of that mag from end 1981 to early 1990s and they contain numerous tests of all sorts of bikes from that era, including a few Huskies... I pull them out occasionally and they bring back some great memories.
Regards,
Russ

Huskys or Huskies, use what you prefer. I'd think if someone wanted to champion the improved usage of English on this bb.... They would take more of an issue with, the use (or misuse) of "to" and "too"!:oldman:

Ha ha, or their and there or your and you're and let's not forget the I got or you got instead of I have or you've got which is one my wife the writer corrects me on all the time. What do you expect from a bunch of motorheads? :excuseme:

OK :censored: all of you! Proper english aside. Yep, to and too and their and there etc.. No problem. All excusable. Any time I see a:cry: orange riding guy (yea I know some of you like both brands!) I have no problem with agent orange. But EVERYONE who has rode a Husky for any length of time knows without saying. Huskys is Huskys and not Huskies! If it was simply a Husky guy who made a mistake, no prob, but it figures it's a guy who owns a KTM. And I'm sorry but most of them are like the guys I know who only think GM makes good trucks and cars. Now I'm bored and to (or is it too?) think all this drama over a picture of and ugly bike**************************************** (The KTM) The CAGIVA was awesome****************************************!!:banghead::banana:Now lets all  and settle it on the trail****************************************!!!:applause:Thanks for the thread because that old 85 made it all worth it**************************************** That was the bike that made me the way I'm. Oh yea, don't forget the  to go with the beer!! OK, OK Iv'e exceeded the 15 minutes my wife allows me on the internet each night!

That's a heavy burden for such a fine old machine to carry...

OK Iv'e exceeded the 15 minutes my wife allows me on the internet each night!
Why, does she need you for something else that exceeds 15 minutes? :)

that old 85 made it all worth it
Those old mags I have from the 80s have tests on many other Huskies from that era, if you are interested.

OK we're up to over 2 pages of silly discussion here-

You can tell it's winter time. People suffer from riding withdrawl, get cabin fever & start getting wound about semantics and other such minor things...........

Not attacking or condemning, just sayin' :D;)

Haha, this is the PRIME riding season!! I suffer from riding withdrawls in the summer when it's hot and dusty, but then I usually turn to the wetbike on the water

this is dedicated to the antikato man fletchman45!!!
The Mag Hwt Int results from the SoCal Anza enduro 50yo class 450cc+ Nat B (me, the only Husky among the orange crush). Dude I owned the special tests!!!

http://www.moto-tally.com/vcmc/Results.aspx?EY=2011&EID=3&SC=C29&SV=CS

And from this thread writer Nic Garvin's results in his class

http://www.moto-tally.com/vcmc/Results.aspx?EY=2011&EID=3&SC=C21&SV=CS

and you guys all ready know that Husky OA and P3 in this event with Burson and Roeseler respectively. As far as local AMA district races go our Husky colors really shined on that day.

Shoot I just realized that 50 something year old LR 3rd OA over many younger experts/pros at this race on the very same bike (TE310) that I am picking up today........that means no excuses in future rides and races from me at all.

Good Job**************************************** I like it**************************************** Iv'e been called alot of things both good and bad, but at this time in Minnesota I'm about the fastest Husky guy there is!! Not quite double A, but hey. I make my point with a bad :censored: smallbore**************************************** And I'm fast enough I rarely get passed, ever (unless a hot double aa guy has a 13 and I'm on 12. I pass ALOT of Orange :censored:with bigger engines both 2 and 4 stroke and LOVE it**************************************** I hear people mumble, thats the fast basterd on a Husky, or key off that guy. I like it, and LOVE my (our) brand with great dedication. Just like Airborne Rangers, there has to be people that are true ANTI KTM guys!! When I won Vet A in 04, the Ktm rep said, if you were on a KTM you just would of made $500.00, I looked him right in the eye and told him he could cram the $500 up his a:censored: that I would not ride a KTM if it was free. Sorry. I respect all the guys who like both bikes. No problem, but they can have respect for me to. Sorry DEVIL bike (Gas Gas) like a hot brunette who trys to sucker you for the taking. Not gonna happen. I will be on a Husky for 2012********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************!!!

Kind of funny. Alot of people probably didn't even like the 85 125. I LOVED IT****************************************!! I still have pictures of me on that bike****************************************!! I wish she needed me for something longer then 15 minutes. Had this one for 8 years and like my old style better. Everytime it was time to renew my drivers license I would kick em out and change the lockset (not a joke) Now I get reminded on how she will have my truck and the house I built!! Thanks so much for sparking the old memories of that bike. When my bike is done I will post pics. Will be very interesting I can assure you!!! Modern Retro is how I describe it****************************************!!

....It is America and I can hate what I want to....
It's funny you claim the whole internet as "America"
Sad thing is when I read all your quotes on this thread, America is the last place I think of....

I think your hatred would be far suited in the darker places on this planet...no?
You know, like Iran/q or maybe N.Korea or even Gaza or...well...You know, all those lovely places

Definitely not the America I think of, no Sir, mine has a LOT less hatred in it....
But I guess living harmoniously is not everybody's cup of tea...too bad that as an Americans we need to defend it

...and to (or is it too?) think all this drama over a picture of and ugly bike (The KTM)

Yep, and to think there was no drama before you brought it here...good job in killing a thread :applause:

What do motorcycles have to do with Airborne Rangers?
I still don't get it, but can't help feeding the troll....

I have to agree on the anti Kaboom thing, because any orange dealers Ive ever been in has left a very nasty taste in my mouth, service has always been very poor and I hate the way they look at ya like your gonna steal a bike from them, and this is before my husky days, thats why I drive 2-3 hours away and spend my hard earned money at upstate cycles gerald treats you greatly and that goes with any husky employee ive ever met. And I agree with wanting respect for the husky name, orange guys look at ya like I cant believe your riding that contraption, and when they say how do you like pushing your bike out of the woods. Thats when I scream HUSKY**************************************** and dump the clutch and let the red beast cover the orange with a good ol' roost:D
