• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Interchange list

The filter is less of a problem that the two halves of the air box. It is well documented, you should consider resealing it or do the pod mod or you will have problems later.

Replaced my bent stock shift lever with an IMS "Flightline" lever with folding tip IMS part number 313114 for, among other bikes, 88-04 YZ 250.

ADVRider is changing forum platforms. This change will disable HTML as it is a security risk. So, this will change access to various indexes that we have built for the TR650. As a bastard bike it is important that these indexes remain searchable in some manner so that the information we have fought so hard for isn't lost.

I suggest that if you use the indexes please copy the contents to a clipboard page and save them in your documents somewhere. At least this way you will have the reference to the problem or fix and then you will the page numbers to refer to. This will minimize your efforts in finding what you are searching for. Migration to the new platform has already begun and is the beta testing stage right now and it is anticipated that the switch will take place in the next two weeks.

Did you order one for fitting on your bike? If so, let me know if it fits and I will put it on the interchange list. I will need to know part numbers and such though.

No. I got an Email that some one had gone in and matched it up. If you drop them a email I'm sure they would give you the story. I hope it's true, they are pretty sharp down there.

Confirmed. I just installed the FP-DUC in my 2013 TR650 Terra and it works perfectly. The whole crew at California Cycle Works was awesome. I I initially purchased the Husky fuel pump, but after comparing and looking at the pictures, the FP-DUC turned out to be exactly what I needed. This is awesome news because the fuel pump from Husky has been on back order for months. I highly recommend California Cycle Works. Can't say enough! Definitely add it to the interchange list. I can include pictures if anyone is interested.

Here is the link to the pump, and some comparison pics. The stock pump is the silver one. Thanks California Cycle Works!
And thanks for your help, Sdhusky. Seriously, Big Thanks to you all for helping us figure out these bikes and try to keep y'all running.

Thanks,
Chris

I was contacted by a Terra owner, Dan Dornacher over at f650.com re a parts interchange list between the 650GS and the Terra, at first I thought it would be a long job but KiwiApe pointed me to the Terra Online Fiche and between it and the info I had on file for the GS it turned into a painless task to put together and I figured GS and Terra owners would benefit, I was already hosting a spreadsheet for the 650X owners anyway so it is now on line on my GS web site, it is an excel spreadsheet you can add your own info into

http://www.f650gs.crossroadz.com.au/AlternativeParts.html

If anyone wants me to add info I see no problem in doing so

Those fuel pumps above look rather similar to the HiFlow pumps for the 650gs and CNT Racing are now making one, you can see them at

The BMW crankcase position sensor is the same part and is identical to the Husky part for the TR-650. It was replaced in my bike by the Husky dealer in Escondido, Calif. and was a direct fit item. The BMW part lists for at least $700USD cheaper than the Husky part. I hope no one needs to replace this wiring harness, like I did.

So I think that nobody has had to buy a new stepper motor for their throttle bodies. I may need to buy one soon. Has anyone tried the BMW g 650(?) Equivalent "idle air controller"?

Depending on cost, I may be the guinea pig for this one. The interchange list has been helpful as hell, guys.
