• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

LED turnsig/tail light replacement woes.......

someone posted that if you only replace the rear they will be fast rate but the indicators will work:excuseme::excuseme:

True.
I just put flush mount LED's on the rear of my 08 610, and the flash rate is faster. The dash indicator works at the faster rate also.

I have all LED's here and used this IC relay from a place probably not too far from you. It slows the flash down to a normal rate.

Here you can kinda see how I wired it:

Thanks BikeSPD,
That will be my long term fix when I add front led's.
Sicass is a good outfit to deal with. Some complain about prices, but they ship right away and have things in stock. Plus my local ktm dealer is a dealer for them also, so I can get local pickup with no shipping.

Just installed the Baja Designs LED signals and taillight. The relay/module looks like the one from above, bit smaller, epoxy filled. It has two wires rather than three, the connector is the wrong kind, but not a big deal I don't much trust those connectors anyway.

I ended up cutting all the bullet connectors off the signals and redoing them with the fully insulated flat style and filling them with dielectric grease. The connectors that BD had on there were over crimped anyway, a couple fell apart when handled. To mount the turn signals in the stock location you'll have to drill the hole out making it bigger.

The tail light took a bit of work to get mounted in a satisfactory manner, in part due to complications from the ProMotoBillet rack on the back. As expected, color codes were all wrong, not a big deal, just label everything when disassembling the original tail light assembly.

The tailight is mounted to the aluminum braket rather than the fender. I used rubber bushings between the bracket and the tail light to dampen shock. I watched a friends crack running down a rough trail, maybe overtightened or something, but I'm not sure so better safe than sorry. Holes are for access to the assembly hardware.

Tired of constant tail light issues on my 610 TE...

I custom fit a DRC edge 2 LED tail light conversion into the stock Husqvarna tail light. It was a tight fit but I worked it out using the basic household fab stuff (Dremel Tool & Super Glue). Didn't feel too bad cutting up the sub $30 DRC 2 tail light. Thought about swapping out completely to the Edge 2 but it was a good bit smaller and I wanted to keep the stock look.

Only snag was that the front brake lever switch was not being pressed by the lever so brake lights were on at start up. Quick check / fix and lights are working well. Added a set of 601 Led Turn signal lights too....
