• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

"Les is doing better, though not out of the woods. He was up today and they did pull him off of ventilation...even had him out of bed and sitting in a chair. It will still be many weeks before he can start getting back to his life, but at least as of right now, things are looking better."

Thanks Kelly :)

Hi All,
Sorry for not giving any updates along the way - I was busy winding down Les' business and spending the remaining time at the hospital.

For someone who was clinically dead on saturday of last week - Les is doing amazingly well. He collapsed in his yard and was very fortunate that his wife saw him go down and had CPR training. He lives a little ways out of town so it took some time for the ambulance to arrive; he was flat-lined when it arrived and it took four attempts to revive him. His Doctor was concerned about brain damage. There was significant damage to his heart - but his recovery has been amazing - no neurological problems and his smile and his sense of humor are both completely intact!

He didn't have health insurance and his income has come to abrupt halt. For those of you who have offered to help him in his time of need - . I have information on the gasgas riders club website on where to send donations or to donate via paypal. :

Thanks,
Jeff

Good thoughts to Les and family, and donation on the way. Les did a great job on my 630 and I really enjoyed chatting with him. Hope he can get up and around soon. Business be damned, just get well!

Les has always been generous to the North East Husky Gathering.... Donation from the North East Husky Riders is on the way.
