• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

MOSS Tool works awesome.

Yep, that's what I think to, total BS I hope. A new dealer just opened up close to me so if its BS I will try the new shop. Thanks for checking with your shop.

Does your bike have the stumble issue or die? Mine wasn't bad and I learned to deal with it...but a new rider that has the bike miss or die at the wrong time..(busy intersection) could ruin their day. If you have these same symptoms seems they'd want to fix it...now if you went in asking for the Moss without having a problem...that would not taste as bad.
Either way ...they shouldn't make stuff up. (fingers crossed that's the deal)

Seems like they'd have a huge class action lawsuit on their hands...and a lot of bad press. I am not a lawyer but this would really tase bad. The TRs are pretty popular and hundreds have been sold. Going on thousands I'd reckon. I wish a dealer would chime in and put this to rest...or confirm so we could all jump up and down and holler demanding some help. Surely this can't be so?

No my bike run great , just wanted to see if it could be better. I love this bike, just like to have things perfect.

I've been in contact with one of the manager from "Husqvarna Motorcycle Canada -BMW Group"

He said he will shed some light on this matter early this week. So we should have an answer very soon.

Patience is a virtue

I ask if he would mind if I posted his comment about the Moss tool to me but he has not written back with permission yet.

But he did say this on Monday.

I’m hoping for some announcements and progress this week. If you can manage a little more patience with us through this process we should be able to get you looked after soon.

I am dying to hear the answer...I am holding off buying until I feel a little more confident about the service and access to the moss tool for my dealer

Paid cash for my Terra today. I told them I wanted the bike MOSSified before I picked it up. They said they would have it done in the morning.

I guess you will put us at ease if they get it done. Congrats on your new Terra!

Last time I was at the dealer, they said that a lot of dealers were returning the Moss tool to Husky and demanding a refund saying they did not work. My dealers Moss tool works great, last I knew, and say they will keep it regardless. So, I wonder if some dealers are panicking thinking they will be stuck with an obsolete tool and making excuses.

Hmmm....the guy just said that they have the tool and would hook it up to my bike before I get it. It is supposed to rain pretty hard here the next couple days so I probably want get the bike till Saturday. I will swing by there later today and see if there was any issues.

It takes a bit to get it figured out MOSS TOOL},and if you mess up your password 3 times have to have HMNA call or email Italy to send a temp password to get back in and reset, all takes time,i waited a week for password reset one time.So this other shop may be stumbling learning all this and it reall slows down the process .
The password has to be updated before end of 30 day intervals and its easy to forget to renew before hand, again then it becomes password reset.Pain in A** I wish so much security was not needed to work on a motorcycle.

It all ties back to Germany and is intergrated with BMW bikes and cars ,not wanting an unhappy person hacking in and monkeying up the works I guess ,its like trying to pay payroll taxes IRS security is crazy if some one wants to break into my IRS account and pay my taxes let em in anytime.billf

Unofficially I just heard in Canada...the BMW motorcycle shops will do any warranty that needs the MOSS tool. I don't think any Husky shops here has one anyway and they still need the adapter plug that fits our bikes.

I had my first service at Huskysport the UK importer and they laughed at the panic on the internet over this issue..... business as usual and no sign of that changing anytime soon...

Treat all those 'unofficial' rumours as speculation. Especially I wouldnt trust BMW sources - its a competitor now and Terra is quite potent competitor to small GS. Small dirty 'whispered marketing' is maybe a bit unfair but in their best interest.
