• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Motosportz 09 WR125's available now and at a SMOKING price....

Oh for cripes sake... Let's call in the Obama administration to make sure everything is "legal" and no one is "harmed" by this obviously over-the-top capitalist venture which has certainly been designed to undermine the very foundation on which Husqvarna's US operations are built!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Seems to me if Husky USA had its shit together, by now there would be NO 125 left in the USA for Kelly to offer up. This, IMHO, is an example of the entrepreneurial spirit that will put Husky back on the map in the USA. You GO Kelly! If I had the money, I'd buy one right now just to piss off the "Rules Police"

RELAX people. Let's collectively pull the corn cobs out of our butts, take a deep breath, think about what's really important in life, AND F'ing CHILL**************************************** :censored:
10-4 on that Krieg!!! There is one in every crowd. Why not let the man make a few bucks for his effort. I mean "COME ON DUDE"****************************************!

I was going to keep my mouth shut, BUT....
Can you cut me a deal for $3994

If there's one thing to say here it's that Kelly is not in this game to get rich quick or to piss off the community. He happens to have associates who own a dealership and he happens to own a (mostly) Husky orientated accessory business. What a concept! Not that he hasn't been unofficially been selling Husky's for years.... he's part of the reason I bought mine.

If he can help his associates legally move a few bikes then who the hell cares? I doubt the Husky brass are going to shed tears that he's helping move bikes in the states.

Furthermore, If the other shops product and prices are in line then there should be no worries. If they feel he's providing a superior product for the price point then contact him or another person with these capabilities and try to make the same arrangements. It's called competition. Step up or shut up!

Personal feelings and business dont mix. I dont care how blue in the face a dealer gets trying to get me to buy a bike. If they are not offering me the best price then I'll take my business elsewhere. It's that simple! I could care less about their ability to provide parts or service as I do my own service and there's 100 dealers that are willing to ship parts. The game changes and so must the player.

Even business is all political these days. And I freaking hate politics!

Go Blazers****************************************!!! :D

Kelly,
Please tell us who the dealers are that are getting upset, we can boycott them as well.

Come on Dealer Boys, quit the BS and look at the promotability of YOUR brand with this LITTLE venue.

PS didn't feel like reading the whole thread, so if it has been said already, I said it again.

Wow these threads took me a few minutes to read and digest. I wish ALL the Husky dealers were as passionate about the Huskys they sell as Kelly is. It would be unreal and great to get a bike that was dialed in the way you wanted it when you picked it up. Running like it should without you having to do the testing and purchasing of all the parts. You know the ones that work and the ones that don't work. I look forward to a mag testing a properly set up Husky and then reading about it. I am a small business owner myself and have been for over twenty one years. I appreciate a business that's in business to make things better. You properly equipping, setting up, tuning, and a dealer selling a truly race ready Husky sounds like a great plan to me. If any dealers are or get get pissed...try following his lead and sell some bikes. Thanks Kelly.

I read through this thread that started out good and ended up shaking my head. These seem to be models that need to be moved out and was probably offered to more than just this one dealer. They did some brainstorming and came up with a great concept of selling them. This is thinking out of the box and "making" something happen instead of "sitting" and waiting. Now you have all the crying... If this was for new current year bikes going well below msrp then I would be the first to call my distributor if I was a dealer. But I think all in the know and anyone who does grab one of these will see that it is through a dealer and not a shady grey market or non usa bike. I also feel it should have been discussed in PMs or away from all to see. If my local Husky dealer seen this special he would be saying that this is the reason he cant move the Huskys even though he never bought in any 2t's! lol A few months ago I tried to get a quote on a 2010TE250 and got hit with a $9000 OTD price!! Then he said that would be for what is basically a 08 TE250... He has no idea that the 250 is totally redesigned this year.. This is the kind of stuff that would make some say screw it. Imagine how much more or shall I say less movement there would be down the road. Motosportz keep the faith. I guess some were implying that you are not a "dealer" so you cant sell them as new. But I think all know what you guys are and what you guys are trying to do, tuning, trail set up, etc with the bike coming through a authorised dealer in one simple purchase. Brilliant if you ask me.

As for the idea of a 125 2t set up at a good price I think its a great idea. I know that on the nastiest of trail conditions a 125 is hard to beat.
:-)

I just got into this thread too.
It has all been said, but hang in there Kelly, you have a good idea and I predict this will develop into something very good for Husky and You.

I thought we had some hard core stuff here until i saw some vids of what you crazy F'ers ride.

Thanks for the posts everyone. We are treading lightly so as not to step on toes as much as we can. It is a creative idea which somehow got completely misconstrued. We only hope the best for Husky and the future.

About those bikes

Let me know when they are available...If I want another bike, why not a second '09WR125!

The answer to all this is very simple.

If Kelly had stated that he was teaming up with a local Husqvarna Dealer from the very start to offer a specially equipped "Motorsportz Replica WR125" none of this would be an issue. Because it sounded from the start like it was coming directly from him all the controversy began. It would have been better if the Dealer was included in the announcement from the beginning to avoid misconceptions.

There is nothing wrong with Kelly working with a dealer to promote and sell such a bike. It shows creativity and enthusiasm for the product.

A couple of points need to be made though:

1.) Any modifications from stock void the warranty that comes with the bike. This is written in the warranty.

2.) The Dealer agrees not to deliver anyone other than an authorized Husqvarna Dealer any Husqvarna Products which are not fully set up or serviced or that have not passed pre-delivery inspection in accordance with Husqvarna Motorcycle North America's procedures and directives. (In other words the dealer must set the bike up first before releasing to Kelly or any other retail party).

I hope this clears this matter up. We appreciate everyone that was looking out for Husqvarna's and our dealer network's best interest. From what I can see it would appear that everyone that posted here has this sentiment in mind.

I keep telling you...get the cheapest ticket into OAK you can find and we'll go have a hell of a ball in the woods! The WR will be yours for the weekend. It won't cost you a penny other than your airfare (and the price of a new WR when you get home.) I'll provide tent, sleeping pad, chair, food, drink, firewood, gas, flashlight...you name it. Just get yourself here and I'll worry about the rest  We'll show your friend he doesn't know what he's talking about :D

So I am looking at a 02 YZ250, that way its year around.

Wr125

Hi guys,my first reply was a little to blunt to be posted,Kelly read it and thumbs uppped me.Anyhow I have no problem with this Wr125 project ,Kelly has made alot of people aware of what great bikes the Cr125 and Wr125 are!.Indestructable fast fun bike.
His time spent modifying them is alot of hard work {and fun}but has brought the best out of a great bike overlooked by many dealers.
We have always loved this bike,to the point Kellys right in my front yard if anyone should have a problem with his 3 bikes mod /sale project it would or should be me and I DONT Care ,I think its great .i will just sell more Wr 125s .We are already doing basicly the same thing for others.
Bill Farrell BMP Husqvarna ,now why dont we just go have fun!

OK, seems there is some backlash here. I am working through a dealer on this. It was a simple idea that actually sprang out of a thought i had to offer WR125's already lowered and with the cut down seat to fill a market segment not currently being filled. Additionally we are only talking about a few closeout bikes there. This is not going to impact anyone. Bills sells bikes for $200 over list and people get mad, Heines was selling bikes for less than most dealers could buy them. It is simply creative marketing for a few bikes. I can not do it, that would be fine. I already generated two sales for a local dealer. We are not looking to piss in anyones cheerios. We have spent a considerable amount of time sorting these bikes out. Spent countless hours figuring out the PV, carbs, PV linkage issues and everything, as have others. I know for sure many dealers have sold 125 because of this effort. We also supported and continue to support an after-market that was not there to accelerate the sales of the brand we love. I sell parts to dealers at near break even costs. I have spent considerable time forwarding the brand and now I want to sell a few bikes and dealers are going to blacklist me over it? Seems like a one way street. These bikes ARE through a dealer. A dealer is making money on these sales. I'm cutting no one out. I have been putting my heart and sole into husky since 04. I live a very meager life, 130K house, truck with 220K miles. Ask anyone who knows me, I do this because I freaking LOVE husks and the groups that rides them. Additionally I support other dealers and after market all the time and ask nothing for it. Sent Halls two customers and one is on his second bike now (2010 TE250 / Jason S.) Send Bills, up-tite, Motoexotica, Halls, GP and many other customers all the time. I manufacture and sell steering dampers yet send Scotts / BRP customers all the time with high praise for what they are doing. Feel we need to work with each other not oppose. honestly it looks like we are getting three bikes. who is that going to kill?

BTW, I was not going to let the cat out of the bag yet but... i have spent a lot of time and effort to setup a mag test for a good running and dialed up WR125 and 2010 TXC250 for the mags to test. This will be happening shortly. Will be picking an editor for a major mag up, driving to locations to test and take pix, food, gas, time, etc all out of my pocket just to get a good review of fantastic bikes in the mags. This is all at my cost, on bikes I own, that I have massaged to working well.

I got an Email from a certain dealer that said he spoke with several US dealers who were pissed and told their parts managers to stop buying from me right now. WOW, really? Are these same dealers going to send me a referral check when they sell a bike over the mag exposure i got on 100% my own effort? I cut my profit to near nothing to support the dealer sales. They make more than i do, seriously. I don't look to piss anyone in this industry off. If selling a few bikes to make a few bucks is pissing people off I don't know what to say about that. Look who has bought 125's due to the work and effort we all put in here, I'm absolutely sure many dealers have benefited from this. I know i have personally influences several sales here to local dealers, like to the tune of 20 plus bikes, and I'm sure many more to none-local dealers. I see this as a win win. More bikes out there, more husky exposure, bigger husky family.

In the end this is not a big money making proposition with 2-3 bikes. I am working through a dealer as there is no other way this could happen. I have spoke with some people pretty high up at husky before I did this and it will have little to no impact on any local dealer other than maybe promote and sell more bikes and parts. I am not getting rich, hell i am barely making ends meet. If my wife did not have a killer job i would be doing something else. I do this for the love of the brand. If said dealers want to get pissed, not buy from me and talk bad about me maybe Motosportz would just dry up and fade away then we will see if there is any impact from that. My point is this is major nearsightedness. We will all benefit from this, the customer, husky USA, dealers etc.

If this really is a huge deal I urge these dealers who the dealer who PMed tells me "several US Husky dealers are absolutely flipping out with you selling new bikes" and "already told their parts depts to quit buying your stuff immediately" to Email me. I'm not looking to cause issues. It's not a big deal and were talking about 3 bikes. These bikes will sell for cheap regardless if i am involved or not as all the dealers are getting incentives, always do this time of year.

Maybe we can start a list of customers who have bought bikes from various dealers due to my support, posts and suggestions. Then we can see if they are still pissed off at me. Of the top of my head I know of about 15 from Taskys / Bills, a few to L&D, 3 to Halls, 1 to GP, A couple in Idaho... Local ride buddies who are on huskys because of me or highly influenced by me who might never been on one are, Adam (on his third), Jake, Shane, Scott, Russ, David, Greg, Brian...

Kelly I know your are responsible for me purchasing a 125 and hold a great deal of influence with me. I respect your opinions and you have earned my admiration and trust.. Thanks for your efforts ..

Hey, Dealers that are winers and complained to Kelly about this deal, check the price for the 2009 WR 125 at Hall's.

I as I'm sure many others, appreciate all the work you put into keeping the husky name alive.

If it weren't for guys like kelly, I'd have given my husky up a while ago for the issue of getting parts.

I purchased a 09 WR125 from Tasky's in Everett. I believe they are the dealer that Kelly teams with. I am very happy with the bike and the service provided by Tasky's.

I wanted everyone to know that Kelly does support his local dealer, and the ownersof Tasky's are really nice friendly people who want to see you have fun and enjoy your bike.

Thanks Tasky's I'll see you next time I need a bike.
