• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My BAD 79 WR build

nah, I just went with the factory settings as far as I know . Gave drew all the info for what I intend to do with the bike , woods and vintage racing. My riding weight is about 170 with riding gear on, height is 5'8" so I am hoping factory valving is ok ?

I got frustrated about my fenders so I just scraped, sanded, and polished the front for now.

I wanted to ask if anyone would happen to know what year this fender is from?
From looking at pics on here I think it might be from the early 80's and not a 79 and would any body have a 79 for sale?

Ya, it would work but it has a pretty big gap between the seat and the fender. I guess the 79 loop bar is a little higher or further back?

kill switch.jpgForgot to get a pic of my new starter button. lol
photo (27).JPGI bought a new tool for the shop this saturday. (back saver)
table 2.jpgI really needed this table, how else could I take my kickstand off and paint it ?

Hey Thanks, that really means alot to me. I have spent a lot of time doing things not many people would even know about, and of course its all been the hard way (by hand) I'm down to a few last things and then comes the big kick off.

im a bit over black rims on the older bikes, like looking at a 68 comaro with 21 inch fooses on it...yueeech!

I try not to be too critical because everyone is free to restore a bike any way they choose, but just a personal aesthetics thing, I absolutely hate black rims on vintage bikes. I'm not really a fan of black (or the blue on Husabergs) on modern bikes because after a short time they get scratched and look terrible.
