  • Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

125-200cc New to me 2010 CR 150

New goodies arrived today to brighten up a home office day :) Now realize just how worn the rubber is when I placed the NEW Geomax 32's beside the old scorpions....yeah....that could explain the loss of traction during the maiden ride. Looking forward to mounting all this and setting up for next order...still pretty boggy here and no trails/tracks formally open until end of April here....maybe sooner if we get some smokin' great weather.20160330_105327.jpg20160330_115420.jpg
 
Part search....in putting on the new Moose clutch lever, I confirmed the clutch cable has seen its last few days...barrel at lever and mid backed out all the way plus 4 metal washers added to freeplay end to get proper freeplay at lever. Looking for a motion pro terminator cable but have seen listings for 04 to 06 bikes...are all years compatable? Pretty impressed with the pull from the lever already....it was light with stocker to begin with
 
I have a motion pro that I put on when I thought my original cable had strectched, it was even a little longer than the original. Terminator cable part number for your 2010 is 10-0156
 
Haven't measured the housing that is currently on bike, but assuming the increased length is cable not housing? Been informed the Terminator housing is, "The housing length on ours is 38.80"

make your measurements before you cut anything. If I recall the cable needs about 100mm or so of bare inside cable length more than the outer tube- double check this when you get the old cable off. If the bare part is too long- [should not be if it is the correct cable] the slick old Enduro fix is to tie a knot in it about 40 mm from the bottom end nut: this takes up just a few mm and allows you to keep your adjusters as tight and short as possible. Short adjusters are less prone to damage. You will get upside down...
 
I thought of doing a knot, have a few bungee cables shortened up like that but I thought I would get fewer questions asked with the spacer. Lol

Installed the Dunlop 32's today....man...I need to get myself a PROPER tire stand. Fired it up and risked the bluehairs in the subdivision calling the cops and checked out the clutch.....Mint

That works too, since I have a lathe I tend complicate things. Lol. Do I need to make make bunch of aluminum 'adapters' for us? :)
 
The day finally arrived..loaded up and headed out to a local moto track, Bayside Riders, in Shannonville Ontario. Had no idea what to expect. I can barely move today from...quads seizing and back super stiff but worth every minute of it...I'm still learning proper clutching and definitely riding one gear too tall but that will all come into check...now to go check the color of my plug to confirm I was running a taaad too rich on pilot...better rich than lean me thinks. Little video of a newbie on a moto track...if it was this much funn on track....can't wait to get INTO THE TRAILS!!!

 
Hey all you Ontario Canada riders...looks like a bit of a gathering is forming for a ride this Saturday at the Ganny to prep for following weekend's Mini-Pine. I've registered as a Vet C....have NO idea if that was the proper category...figure first enduro...I'm over 40 and it should be the FULL course. Looking forward to it!!! For those on the OFTR forum...check it out and may see you there!
