• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Northwest Fall Gathering Round 2 - China Hat / Bend Oregon Oct 2011

There is probably another tidbit that may be of interest..

The District rep is an extremely nice guy named Jason Dahners, and after a bit of digging it seems he may know how to ride a bike (ISDE)... I hope someone can keep up with him, because I certainly can't...

hmm... Jake maybe? I've no idea who can ride fast.

Good rider...been tearing up the PNW for years....get Nat Wilder there or either of the Richardson's there to give him a run for his $$..ask him about those dudes from back in the day. And yes...6 days guy...last 6 days I recall with him was on trophy team with Fred in 2005 I believe in slovakia..tough year for USA. I think ge got a Silver if I recall....great rider. Last I heard he was a KTM Rep (but it appears almost all of the new Husky crew was...LOL)
He has done other ISDE's and If I recall clun team rider back to 99 or so.

Haha, thanks for the vote of confidence. :-)

I have ridden with Jason before, I had no idea who he was and was leading a group ride of 21 people. He had no problem keeping up and asked if he could lead for a while. He took off and made me work to keep him in sight. He was probably just cruising, I think he ended up leading the rest of the ride. It ended up being a free for all on the last half of the ride. Group rides can be interesting. I think this was 2 years ago or so.

I will probably not be pushing too hard out there on this trip, china hat is too fast and I am too dumb not to twist the throttle to the stop and leave it there in some sections. :busted:

Later,

Jason is from the PNW and was one of the local fast guys. Not sure anyone here will be able to hang with him but luckily this is a trail ride :D

Looks sweet Bill. Hope I get a turn....

Anyone driving up from California? Unfortunately, I have midterms the following Monday and cannot make the ride. I'm also a slow rider so I wouldn't want to hold you guys up. :)

That being said, I was thinking about picking up Bill's personal WR150 from his shop. Any chance anyone has extra room to haul it home? I'm in the Sacramento/Davis area.

Thanks!

I could probably bring it back.. if you can get someone to transport it from Bills to the Campground, which I doubt would be a problem.

Only five days till we hit the desert! I'm so excited that other then gas, food and water I am already packed. I missed it last year but never again!

And speaking of fuel.. what are the prices in OR these days? The price I am paying is about $3.80 for the cheapest unleaded.

I called the Pilot station in Dunnigan CA (near 505 & 5) and unleaded is $3.65 at the moment.

Im going to try to get my brother and some other Bend fast guys to come out for a day or two. They are good rabbits for the greyhounds among us to chase around. Unfortunately the 24 Hours of Starvation Ridge is the same weekend so may racers will be up there instead.
