• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Northwest Fall Gathering Round 2 - China Hat / Bend Oregon Oct 2011

Any suggestions on how to handle the swag? Things people are bringing to give to others? Drawing of some type?

I am bringing some ceramic coffee cups, travel mugs (aka sippy cups), stickers, wrenches.. and I've got some other stuff from another vendor as well.

We could have a conversation about it, if I knew who to invite into it...

Bill and Kelley seem to have mentioned bringing some stuff.... Maybe you 3 could work out a plan...
I will take whatever swag I can get :applause:

Another question: anyone going to be at this event that is also into vintage Husqvarnas? If so please try to find me.. I am interested in your opinion on a few things.

I think I will make it this year. I should show up Friday morning and I have to leave Saturday night.
I have not read every page of this thread so maybe this has all been covered but anyway I was wondering about a few things.
Will I freeze in a tent? I was thinking about getting a hotel but I haven’t spent a night in the woods drinking beer by a fire for years so I think I want to stay in camp.
Should there be groups heading into town at night for dinner? I imagine there must be some good food not too far away. I just don’t want to bring everything to cook for one night.

I tent camp. Not too bad except getting out of the bag in the morning. I have a small heater that makes it doable. Just be ready for 20 degree nights and you'll be fine.

I'm not wanting to turn this into a selling event at all but we have a small pile of XXXL (which fit like XXL) Rooster jackets left and will be bringing them and fire selling them. We just want them gone and as winter is coming and we have a gathering of our favorite people what better place to make a sweet deal. So if you need a extreme do it all coat and are a semi big guy stop buy the boxvan.

Dean, will there be anything organized? A raffle? We have some goodies to add to the prize pile if anything like this goes down.

Looking forward to this, should be good fun.

I as well as many other will have tons of cooking stuff. Your more than welcome to come cook on my grill and use my stuff. that goes for anyone riding a husky :)

Sorry,m was on the page before when i responded, sounds good and I'll have some free stuff to add to the pile. Maybe a raffle sat night with a table-o-crap to choose from?

Sounds good.

Maybe people could put their names on a piece of paper and draw from a helmet?

Looking ahead weather

Sunny days, cooler nights. Looking pretty fine.
Actually I just got a courtesy call from Brian at Atomic moto... it seems to be a bit chilly there at the moment. Might want to bring warm clothes to sleep in at night (or at least I should).

It does appear to be warming up in the days ahead, this is my best guess for the weather at camp 25 LINK

Hopefully we will wake up Sat morning with an inch or so of snow. It would sure help keep the dust down. I know, wishful thinking...:D

Anyone know if we can have a fire? If so everyone that can should bring some and we'll make a big ass fire for sat night.
