  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Official SMR 511 Mod thread

from the states? 150 is a bit small, makes the bike look smaller as well, i spoke to motosupplies and they run a 5" on there 449s, they have got a nice power commander for sale as well.

What levers/handguards are people using? I've heard levers from 99-03 Aprilia RSV's may fit, currently having issues with the ginormous stock brake lever and cycra probend 'guards with the long mounts.

ktm 530 2010 + are using the same brembo clutch and brake lever so the should fit and are easy to find

The brake MC is different afaik, the SMR has one with a remote reservoir, the TE is integrated. Clutch is most likely the same though.

I really like my DB handguards...

The issue with some handguards we've been having is interference with the ignition barrel/key. Not sure if the TE's have the keyed ignition like the SMR's or not.

My dealer (Justin @ Trooper Lu) is getting some levers in to see if we can find some that fit (and look swish!).

The HDB's work with the key as on my TE511.

I've got a lever of an rsv 99-03 on my smr, fits fine, no problem with acerbis handguards

And yer, ash, I know what you mean with the 150 lol and yeh got mine from the states, took about 2-3 weeks but I think there might be a UK distributor

matt where did you find your lever? I'm not having any luck whatsoever? and was it a whole wheel you brought or just the rim?

yeah I've seen a few OEM levers but they look a bit long? i may be mistaken though. is there any other bikes that have this fitment is what i mean.

Justin is ordering in some ASV levers ('99 RSV brake, '10 530 clutch) to check fitment, should be able to get (roughly) matching levers if they fit. He seemed more interested in finding levers than I did lol.

Excellent! I'll get some for sure if they fit. It'll be nice to be able to fit some handguards.

Thanks for the heads up.

Ash I mean I used a Titax short lever that was listed for an RSV 99-03, its not just them though if you look at the part numbers loads of bikes share the same lever. I bought the wheel complete as well, saves messing about

Hey all
Please see the thread I just put on our section of the forum. I have copied it here als. Hopefully there are some good deals for you guys.

For all Motard enthusiasts. Please tell your mates.

I have a very very very limited number of SMR511 2011 models.

Ride away registered price in NSW is $10k - $500 deposit only. We do in house finance if required. I only have very very limited numbers and need to get depsoits fast to secure these units.

Further we will do
- Akropovic evoluzione exhausts system fitted $1000
- We can now do ASV lever sets for brake and clutch (limited numbers but have backordered) $230 for the pair
- We also have a range of handguards to suit. This is a toughy as you motard guys all want something different, so we tend to just get what you need. We keep about 3 versions in stock.

- We also have all the normal gear you may required and can help with actual proper motard suspension set ups etc.

- We have the JD power tuners due to arrive any day also. This is alllimited stock stuff so please be quick (and please be patient if something has run out)

thanks guys

I think these are ptetty special deals and we have tried to do the right thing here for motard guys.

Justin
