• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

One hole too many

The 1985 400WRX came with magnesium clutch covers as the aluminum(aluminium for our Brit descended friends) came to the 1986 models. So lucky for you a PO had to replace the original with a 1986 cover.

Yup. That's what I was saying. I replaced the original magnesium cover with an aluminum (aluminium?) cover that Husky John sold me... All good !!

Ran the 400 WRX in my first vintage race today. It's an awesome bike!

How'd you do? and more important did you have fun!

how good is that engine...gear for every occasion

Amazing engine... the track was very tight with no real straights. I could run the whole track in 2nd and 3rd gear. The motor had no issues when I would lug it. With my rookie status I was trying to keep it off the pipe, otherwise it would stand it straight up! Especially on the jumps.

I'm definitely hooked and will attend as many of these as my schedule allows.

Good news was that I had a blast. Bad news is that I finished last in both moto's  It wasn't the bikes fault though! It was an awesome ride. I left the start late intentionally to stay out of the way. Learned a ton and will continue to do so. The weather was great as well:

good plan, can only improve by chasing...watching other riders, picking the best lines they use and passing them in their weak areas. I try to hit the gas just as the guy in front does so your on it just a tad earlier in the corner and if you can hold it on, exit with more speed than ol mate and you should be able to set up a pass at the nxt cnr...sounds easy...HHAAAhhhaaa Felix the cat belly laugh....

:applause: That's what's it's all about

You made it thru, and used our head, and your learned a ton, sounds like a win-win, all the way around!

Great news, good bike, take your time get use to the power. She can lug down under or fly with the best of them. The 400wrx is a good motor. Trust me you won't be a follower for long.

On a bike for the first time? Just finishing is a win anytime.
