• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Pics Of Your 630!

Took the new to me TE out for its maiden voyage (SM went to a good home). Been about 10 years since I had ridden any dirt so went to one of the local DS clinic rides.

Ready for Adventure!

Swapped out my SM wheelset for my knobs and took my girlfriend out for a dirt ride. Have never taken a passenger along before in the dirt and needless to say the sand and mud do present some challenges. However she listened to my instructions and never threw off my balance so we even gave some single track a ride. This 630 really impresses me with its versatility.

That's one of the reasons I got a 630. I want to be able to take my daughter or wife on ride through the woods every now and again. It's nice to see someone else using the bike this way.

Couple of pictures of my ride earlier today, this is before my sprocket bolt decided to jam my rear tire up and essential dead-lock it. Thanks to RDTCU for letting me know that there was a recall on the sprocket bolts! Makes me want to be that much more thorough on the bike checks/maintenance.

How much extra fuel do you use hauling that big parachute attached to your rear fender? :p

You know how it is, you gotta carry a full toolkit with all the things coming loose..:p
Lost my stand on this ride, most probably the bolt snapped and after a while the whole assembly went for a ride in the woods. Oh well I had to get rid of that crappy stand anyway :D

Haha, by parachute, I meant the license plate :p

But yeah, I usually ride with a backpack for tools, camelback, etc.

And you wouldn't say the 630 had a crappy stand if you ever rode a 610 or a 90's KTM...

Was on the verge of buying a GiantLoop or NomadRider for my camping gear when I ran across this idea on ADV. $25pr of coveralls w/ arms removed/legs sewn/straps added = camp-in-a-bag. Tent in one leg. Jetboil, food, Helinox chair, Exped mat, axe in other leg. Sleeping bag across the top. Given what its carrying, very little effect on handling.

Ingenius, but I gotta ask: Did you ever ride a KLR? :D

Hey, it's the Newner Loop!

haahahahaha, awesome

I'm not Newner, but I do drink and ride with him.

I will be making one of my own soon, too. It's a great inexpensive idea.
