• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Pics Of Your 630!

This setup would probably be unique to my rack setup. I moved my top box back farther on a 1/4" alum plate and made a cushion from a 2x4 with 2 layers of foam attached to it and quick wrap of vinyl. Not pretty but worked perfect for us. Keep in mind she's 5'2" and I'm 5'8", two larger people are prob not going to find this comfortable.

What can I say, fantastic riding country, great food and great beer. Estrella is great but the Allumbra (I know the spelling is wrong) is my all time favourite.
If you can I would love to get your views on differences between your 630 and the 701.

Many thanks for sharing the photos.

The correct spelling of the beer is Alhambra :).

Here you have a thread about 630 vs 701

As a resume I would say 630 is more confortable and polivalent bike while 701 is more "explosive" and racing bike. I keep my 630 while my brother is going to sell the 701 because Is very uncomfortable, spends oil and the electric fan is almost always on ... so he do not trust the motorcycle

In the link above you could see this video among other photos and another video Sure you´ll enjoy it

Fully agree with you on the 630 vs 701 comments.

I have just traded my 2013 690, a great bike, for a 2017 model the new bike is a very big improvement on the 2103 model and is absoutely superb in all departments with huge power.

However, my 630 with Arrows kit etc, is still the big dog on the porch and is no poor cousin to the 690 / 701.

a beautiful lap as this has been possible with Nicola and Pierpaolo who have made off-road tracks studying cartography for months. a special thanks also to Adriano with his xr600r driving the group and to Luca who with his F800GS was the "broom" of the group with Pierpaolo. Unfortunately, Nicola eventually did not have a chance to participate but next year we will return to these beautiful places in Central Italy

Hi Rotax, knew you must be a good looking chap with a haircut like mine. Great photos by the way.
A small suggestion, a set of small saddle bags work well on the 630- keeping most of the weight on the passenger seat. I use the Nelson Rigg cheap and cheerful set and put tools and tubes et al in them.

for two days I do not bring a big baggage.
I prefer to keep everything tight on the back of the saddle.
this facilitates the movements if the ground is steep or in the woods
in this case my luggage weighed 4.5 kg excluding the tools

You certainly didn't take the easy road. Looks like a great 2 day adventure. Many Thanks for sharing.
Ciao Ciao.
