    WR = 2st Enduro & CR = 2st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Please post pictures of your 2 stroke bikes.

I have a had two of the 511/449 bikes this season so figured I would have my two smoke match, This bike isn't done yet these pics were before the powder coat was done.View attachment 21123View attachment 21124

Once again.....it is my "opinion" that the 449 front end should be standard on all Husky's. It totally sets them apart from everything else out there and it matches the rest of the package far better than the stock fender does.

I took a heat gun to the front plat on both my bike to flatten them out a bit, stock they look a little funny to me

Here,s some pics of my bikes. one husky WR 125 2008 for my son, One husky WR 300 2012, one Honda CR 500 1998, one 1999, and one 100% stock 2000 model.

Showing my 20 plus year brand loyalty. Here's me racing my 86 cr250. Bike was the best handling most stable dirt bike I have ever rode. Even by today's standards. It was an absolute rocket too. would buy another in decent cond and ride it alongside all modern bikes in a heartbeat.

my '87 CR250, pretty limited model from what I read
it is a low hour and mostly original, it still has the stock rear tire with at least half the tread
I changed the seat as the stock ones are easy to rip, I put a spark arrestor from an 87 XC250 on it, I had to replace the front tire as knobs were missing, I put new grips on as the old ones were just that, the previous owner cut the levers for bark busters, the decals are a bit dated and coming free otherwise it is mostly original, don't know how many hours it has but the rear tire with little wear says few hours, I have had it for over 10 years and ridden it a handful of times, it is one of the nicest bikes to ride, smooth easy to handle, great power all the way through but I understand when the exhaust valve solenoid goes bad all goes awry

Nice bikes, I always wanted a cr500 and almost bought one new in 2000, still regret not doing it!

Hope it is as fun as everybody says. 1st Husky and 1st 2 stroke bike I've owned/ridden.

All my bikes have some kind of stick figure/smilie on them to ad a personal touch and this bike is no different now.

I have a new found respect for Side x Sides... I'd still be pushing if it weren't for these guys' help.

We were riding in the thickest slop I have ever ridden in, on some REALLY steep hills... I was the weak link in the bunch, and was struggling pretty hard. Ended up loosing all gears completely. I'm hoping it's just a clutch issue, but I'm still out of town, so no diagnosis yet.

It was doing fine, as I was slipping the HELL out of the clutch at about 9k RPM for about 10 seconds straight (second attempt). I gave up, pulled the clutch in, turned the bike around, coasted down the hill, and had no engagement after that.

Bike starts and runs fine, but when clicked into gears, and dropping the clutch, the chain will tighten, but won't pull me forward at all, even with revs.

Moral of the Story: Don't hate on Side x Sides! They will save you someday!

Utility quads are good for catching a lift on too. This guy was riding with us and dumped his bike into some rocks and busted a large hole in his clutch cover. Fortunately my buddy had his quad out that day (bike was busted)

(I know, not a 2 stroke or a husky for that matter, sorry)

The Arctic Cat Prowler is the 'Husky" of sxs's. The only parts I have had to replace are the tires.
