    WR = 2st Enduro & CR = 2st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Porkinator totally owns it. BA-ROOOOOP. starting a new loop. hill dash, woods rip over logs and fridge sized tombstones (no trail, just my ribbon, bring enuf tire), then back down to the shop for a BBQ. got more than 2 wheels? yer prolly buying the suds. muwahahahahaha...... muwahahahahahaha...BRAOOOP! (sorry- 34 degrees here and my camera blows) 008.JPG

The wife wanted to try out some remote flash stuff, and I am working on building some enduro obstacles in the yard, this is what we got...

top 5 for sure....wow. good job both of you.

Mancation. Only 1 ktm in the group haha. Funny thing was between everybody's extras (gear and bikes) we could have outfitted 10 more people

well- the lil basket case '89 KX125 runs...started second boot....with a new plug. kicked it 4 times and zippo....so quick plug change and wiiing! only ran it for 2 seconds. why? if you have a pipe this coked up? at some point it will flake off and come right back into the engine- esp if it's old. so the green tiddler gets a new pipe. this one is 30% plugged!

engine came in a bag, in a box, with a rag in the port. good thing I looked before I installed the pipe.

wow....

all is not well however....we have a leak! cheezy green gaskets and clear silicone = leak every time. so time to check for flat n square and re-do this one. lots of hammer marks on stuff....yikes.

007.JPG

tic-tock...on the clock for clean up. silicone is totally useless.... unless you are fixing a fish tank. never use it on an engine people, EVER.

005.JPG

yet more silicone....here's one to keep an eye on...(saying a prayer to the Gods of Speed....)

006.JPG

at least it runs and didn't make any horrendous noises for the 2-3 seconds it ran. next up new pipe, fix the leaks and do some heat cycles. then new brake systems (corroded), RR wheel (totally rusted out like this thing was in a pond, it's a counter balance at this point), bar (heavy rust), etc....oh- and the shock has no juice in it...joyyyeeee! so- if all things are as they should be engine wise it's mreeep mreeep mreeep down the street soon...fingers crossed and stay tuned.

best chassis ever from 125 to open bore. chain is on the correct side too. that thing looks new. never sell it. or call me first.
