    WR = 2st Enduro & CR = 2st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st Please post pictures of your 2 stroke bikes.

Thought I'd post some pics I found of my first Husqvarna, it was a 2003 WRE 125
It was completely standard until the new warranty ran out then all I did was to remove the rear tail light assembly, replace the massive spar arrestor with an FMF power core silencer and take out the restrictive baffles in the expansion chamber. Oh and I notice that I must have also swapped the yellow front guard for a black one at some point :-)

basically stock without the indicators....

you can't really see it here but there is a very small red LED stop light tucked right under the very rear tip of the mudguard which was clearly visible at night when it needed to be. I owned this when I lived in Cyprus and down there the rules & regulations are very loosely enforced so I got away with that and my unique number plate sticker setup.....

3 DAYER APR-MAY 06 (45).JPG

this is a pic from one of our many 3 day rides across the hills in Cyprus. This is on the dam wall and our campsite was on the other side of the wall. It would be around 30 degrees celcius when we got up in the morning so we'd start the day with a refreshing swim, then we'd hit the trails again and see where we ended up....

I ended up seizing this bike by either using cheap 2 stroke oil or running too lean a mixture (possibly both) on a motorway and without the presence of mind to simply pull the clutch in and coast to the side of the road, I ended up riding it out then coming off and sliding down the road on my butt, all the while trying to stop myself from sliding using my hands (not a great idea on reflection), all to the symphony of the screeching brakes of the cars behind me who I can only assume were trying to not run me over....

I don't ride on the road anymore......

Did love this little bike though, it was so light you could really throw it around.

Nice pics Rossik. Sorry about your seize & slide ride.:)
I think it's cool reading these stories of others riding in different countries.
How long have you have the your WRE? The "E" must designate road legal.
I have a '01 WR250, that could be due for a top end, at least a ring

Some photos of a local event for fun on a field:

Glad its you Marcus, I was wondering if someone else was going to try and get it for free! Look after her and keep pics posted on here, I'll miss her. I'm just glad she's going to a good bloke. I may have found a WR360 for a new project, I'm blaming you for going to see my mate about a speedo!

hi mate, yeah I had the WRE for 3 years then decided to sell it and go for a MXer instead. But as soon as I sold the Husky I missed having it.....

In 2006 I found a small shop in Larnaca, Cyprus who had 2 brand new 2003 Husky enduros - mine and a 250. There was only 300 euros difference between them but as I was coming back from a 20 year gap from the last time I owned a dirt bike I chickened out and went for the 125. I didn't regret it at all but I have to say after getting back on the wagon so to speak, I probably doubted my abilities too much and the 250 would have been a better fit given that I'm 195cm and 105Kg.....
c'est la vie.....I still had a blast on it

your '01 250 is probably similar styling to my 125 yeah? you got any pics posted here?

I'm living in London now and there's not so many places to ride, not like the freedom of Cyprus at all. I'm rebuilding a 1985 500AE (automatic......check out my other posts if you get a chance) and I'm probably about 6 months I'd say from having it rideable but I am so itchin' to see what a single cylinder 500 2 stroke is like to ride.....especially being automatic

just another day on the mountain...love the 'ol 300 for plonking over rocks and logs. then beans a plenty when it opens up. man what an engine. and the chain is on the correct side, too. never selling this bike!...I live down there on the left...right next to that tree. brown roof, white trim. see it?
