  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

what year fender and #plate is that??
2014 KTM SX-F
I purchased a Flatland Racing adapter kit from Slavens which was intended to be mounted on an older KTM in order to install the new style SX-F fender and number plate. I had to modify the bracket obviously but it came out pretty nice. The number plate is smaller than Im used to but it still looks decent. Just looks like I raised my handlebar height a bit.

Owned this for about a month, was a good price but I've had to give it some major tlc to make run right and safe
So far I've
1. Fitted new all balls swing arm bearing (old needles had basically disappeared)
2. Lower shock bearing replaced with all balls (needle rollers were present but some snapped in half)
3. Re-greased other bearings
4. Found build up of grit in fuel tap, cleaned/re-fit
5. New terminal fitted to dodgy earth cable under fuel tank
6. Fueled with fresh mix, (mx7) the old mix was way to rich must of been close to 1/20
7. Fixed broken silencer bracket.
8. Reset carb idle and mix screws (way out of adjustment) also waiting for new idle screw old one damaged
9. New UFO grips fitted (this is first picture so not in this one)
10. Waiting for new throttle cable adjuster, it's ment to have one with a m10 thread but there's an m6?!?! Last owner didn't no what he's doing I think. image.jpg
