  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Congratulations the bikes are really beautiful! Can I ask what width has the rear rim? For adapting it have you kept the original crown / pinion alignment or have you made some adaptation to these too?

what width has the rear rim?

It's a 5,5". But it doesnt fits in the 360WR swingarm. Im riding the first generation 450RR. Custom welded, Chain and brake left/right swap. You can use every first generation 450/510 with the old linkage. The with of the hub ist a smaller problen by using Offset washer

Thank you very much! So the front sproket is in the original position and you moved the rear sproket with washer for getting the alingment?
You did a great job with the welding!

The frontsprocket has an offset to the engine. You can easy Turn it to get the offste to Outside and gain about 3mm by this way.
At the rearwheel im riding a newer hub wich is about 6mm wider from brakedisk to rearsprocket. I think the 570 is the first with wider hub. Better to Take this than a big custom washer to offset.

Been a while since i last di an update,
My 2010 wr 165 with 200 fmf expansion chamber, Custom graphics, suspension resprung and revalved, repowder coated the frame, the list goes on. Been an absolute weaponof a bike that i will never sell.
New project however is my 08 txc250 rolling chassis that i shoehorned a 08 yz 250 motor into.
This bike is probably going to get the same treatment as the 165 knowing me.

Love the 165! If you ever want to sell it, I would love to own it!
