• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Head on between a BMW and a Husky. The BMW was totalled out for $14K!

I mean it just doesnt get more ironic than that.

Im being a tuff guy about it, but in reality it scarred the crap out of me.

He was in my lane on a blind corner on a remote gravel road in the mountains, my riding partner in front swerved right to avoid him, i didnt think i could get out of his way going right, plus there was a drop off, so i went very hard left towards a gully. Almost made it.
Looking back on it, i would have done it exactly the same. It was unavoidable. By the time we hit we where both going sideways at around 25-30 mph.

He was a very cool guy at the scene, and helped out while i was knocked out for a just a few seconds. Funny how the third thing out of ones mouth is "how are the bikes?" First is "im alive" Second is "i can feel my toes!"

It sounds worse than it was, but yeah it was super scarry and could easily have been a trip in a helicopter.

Just remember:
If you are about to be in a head on----JUMP!

Mike

Wow Mike, that is a scary story. Sounds like it went reasonably well for a crappy situation though. Glad you're ok.

Yeah that pic is awesome.

Well it feels like we have enough interest.

I just need to get some cash. Hopefully later this month i will have enough to start this little project.

Really thats all thats keeping me from getting the jerseys. :)

On it. Must have both.

Can I assume that bumping up a thread that started on April 1st last year was your idea of a April fools joke?

I believe if this was going to happen, it would have happened by now. :p

I had been wondering about this thread just lately. if it was an April Fools joke, I think it went on a LITTLE TOO LONG without being announced. If not, it still has gone on too long....without any jerseys.

No it was not started as an April fools joke, although I believe the bumping/posting to it on April 1 a year later may have been one.

Dean, you know me better than that. :busted:
No, it was not intended as a joke, I just picked up a new pair of riding pants and can't find a good match for the Jersey. Check these out.

On sale.what a shocker!
They look like a rejected Amish-AIDS Physco quilt!

:lol: Gee...I'm surprised they had any left!

Good lawd-a-mighty, but those are some horrific looking pants.
I hope they're paying you a handsome sum to wear them, Palmer!

Someone slipped a few tabs of Windowpane into the punch at the quilting bee.

 Windowpane! Haven't heard that term in a very long time. The flashbacks keep coming, though, as just yesterday I was reading a review of a book on the history of Orange Sunshine:busted:
