• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

How do you feel about the KTM purchase of Husqvarna?

Sad. Angry. And mostly because of no plan. Iv'e had many Cagiva's and Husqvarnas and all I can hope for is they allow the Italians to do their thing, but market them better. As far as I am concerned at this point the writing is on the wall. But have to keep my chin up till I see what is really going on. Would like to pick up a 13 Husky if I could afford to do so. (Kind of tough since I just bought a new Gas Gas) Many people are OK with it and that is their opinion and I respect it. But if they throw there KTM engine and Husky graphics on a KTM. I will NEVER EVER ride one. And if it is laying in front of me it will be treated like a step child. (AKA KTM) Sounds harsh. That is my opinion and my right and hopefully you can respect me as I do you.

Boogie ... Another customer! I'm through with that 'Big 'n Husky' guy, can I move onto the next guy please?

Sure Ray... go for it.
Just remember, If they buy extra time you get 10% and I want my money on Fridays. Be good.

I don't like it because :
I ride husqvarna because they are different not rebadged
I don't like Kim's
I am concerned they will not keep or develop current 2 strokes 125 s.

And I don't think I will be buying a new 4 stroke

I don't think BMW were doing that bad but I guess hoping someone else was going to pick husqvarna up and make it profitable is unrealistic

I'd be more concerned if Walt started riding Ktm's LOL

I voted that I was okay with it only because there was no "neutral....don't know whether I like it or not yet" rating to click on.

For all that applies to me nothing has changed. Wait a year or two and see what actual changes (that affect me) take place and I'll vote then.

A neutral option would probably get alot of votes as not much is known about the situation. Neutral isn't much fun anyway... especially when you don't mean to select it ;)

Voting might take a new turn since the cagiva brand is back entering the picture ..
why?
if huskies were re-badged ktms in the future, and cagivas would carry on the heritage of "italian-huskies", which bikes would you buy?

r

This is all new data on the transaction for everyone to consider before voting.

EDIT: I'm not a fan of any pimping for $ ...

REEDIT: I'm not a fan of white-collar pimping for $ ...

I'm sure it will all work out ... And I'm still Ok with it and my 4 current Huskies ...

If all things remained the same in the mid bore category... a Cagiva 310 would be the winner over a Husky-KTM 350 for me
