• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

If all things remained the same in the mid bore category... a Cagiva 310 would be the winner over a Husky-KTM 350 for me

Political? ... or functional reasons for that choice? :) ...

The cafe just popped another rivet ...

why?
if huskies were re-badged ktms in the future, and cagivas would carry on the heritage of "italian-huskies", which bikes would you buy?

r
I would buy what best suited my needs - that I could get parts for, for a price that made sense.
Yesterday I test rode a 2006 TE250 with a 310 kit on it (carb) - I am tempted to pick up another one since I already have a (practically stock) 2006 TE250. If nothing else as a donor bike.

I'm already waiting weeks for my 09 Wr parts and may be time to go back to a blue bike for the same reason I got rid of my 1986 Huskie.

Steve,

Why did you have to remind me about that issue years ago. Well took 20 years for Husky to win me back. Hope they don't make that mistake again.

OK so I did not vote twice! But hey what kind of KTM pirate gets on a Husky site and vote HE LOVES IT?????? Sick and demented. possibly a hitchhiking serial killer or what???? Would there really be anything to love about a boiling over blowup parts eating (Well I guess I can find extra bolts and stuff on the trail for a Chinese 4-wheeler or something)LOL all in fun. Either he will leave the Italians alone or I BET! They are not done........................

It's all going to be just fine......

Not really, just trying to calm Fletch down until next week....
Oh come on. Someone has to make it fun. It is OK. I will ride Italian made Husky's or Swedish. Or even KTM/Husky's if they are made in ITALY. It is what it is and goes back a long long time for why it is what it is. We all have a choice and can base what we do off of needs or wants. LOTS of brands out there these days. Let's see where it goes as NO one really knows anything at this point except that Husqvarna has a new owner..............

Right you are and you definitely keep it fun.....

I voted "Im ok with it":

I like the idea of it being owned by something more of motorcross then BMW. I would hope prices wouldnt vary much but considering KTMs are more expensive then Huskys....we shall see.

I dont like the idea of them possibly creating rebadged KTMs or Huskys. They have their own unique looks and styles. To just throw a KTM badge on a Husky would be weird, and vice versa. :excuseme:

If they create all different bikes with parts of both brands then it might create something in a whole new class, but i wouldnt want them to just piece together parts and make some shitty looking bike.

I couldnt picture an orange/black/white Husky lol Its either red/black/white or the yellow/blue.

I took a very long time to decide what kind of bike i was going to buy. KTMs were just out of my price range and the style just wasnt for me. Great bikes but something aboot a Husky just stood out. The look to me is something different then others. It just stands out in a way that all other bikes didnt. I just hope with all the hoop la and crazy talk that the buy out makes all these bikes either stay the same or just get better. To buy Husqvarna and rid of them, or down grade them, would be horrendous and inexcusable. :naughty: Im sure they got better plans then that anyways.(or so i hope) Either way its happening and nothing we can do. :p
