  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your 4 stroke bikes!

Try one and see! They grip like crazy, unless you are knee deep in mud they are a great all around trail tire. Especially in rocky terrain. Also they are great in rooty woods riding as well.

I might give one a run someday to see.
Our usual haunts are mainly loamy soil & mud after rain or dry & dusty, almost sandy if no rain. No much in the way of rocks.

Knee deep mud eh, um yeah, I have a helmet cam video getting out of a mudhole 1/2 way up the radiators**************************************** Not good for the bike.
Too many 4wd mud boys on the tracks that day =)

I just don't know how you Yanks keep your bikes looking so neat and tidy. Mine looks like it's gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson.

Chewed off ears and all.

Glad im not the only one that wonder if they ever drives the bike in the woods..For me it didnt take many hours for it to look like it been thru the WW2. And the bike has only hit the ground 3 times during the 48 hours it has been driven.. and another thing ive noticed is that on some trackday pics the turn signals is still on the bike.. That is the first thing we swedes take of . The delaer doesnt even put it on.. it comes in a box.

The ears are chewed on my TE too.
I turned mine completely upside-down so it was pared on the seat & handlebars on only the 3rd ride :(
I was playing chasey with my teenage son on the local MX track, I slowed down after passing him, went high on a berm to let him by & lost it over the top!!! :excuseme:

So not cool!

Anyway, I've finally decided to renew all the plastics after 115+ hours of wear & tear, going with the all white panels & SM sticker kit when they arrive.

For me it's all about taking care of what I paid good money for, when I ride it, I am not concerned how dirty it is, but when the riding is done it's time to clean it up. It's a great way to know exactly what is going on with the bike. If your linkage needs greased or you have parts about to break, it's great to notice that before the next time I get on the bike. That being said, when I know I am going to be riding the dirt for several days in a row, it stays dirty.

I've noticed in pictures of your bike the subtank is brown. Mine is almost white as are most I have seen. Another sign of the fuel differences?

May only be that mine sat unloved at a BMW dealer for a year, being wheeled in & out of the sun each day, before it was discounted & I bought it.
The tyres were rock hard, the knobs just broke off the cases.....
May be the fuel. I will have a look on the net for a local fuel spec sheet when I have time.

I'm scheduled to fly out to work again tomorrow & will miss my bike time.:(
So I went out today to do some track finding for our next group ride with my mates.
Awesome weather for it here today!!

And here I am freezing cold pouring rain no time for riding and you tease me with these photo's  Good onya mate hope you had a great day.
