  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I'm loving that case saver/slave cylinder guard... what flavor is that?

My 2012 TE 511. 7602 rad braces just arrived, and the guards are en route, as is a Motorsportz rear disc guard. Also still need to swap out the front krapoo tire, have an mt16 waiting to go on. If you look closely you can see a clear hose over the valve cover, I have it routed from the airbox oil breather vent (why the hell did they route it right over the valve cover) down to just above my chain. Self oiling chain ;) Really not an issue now that I got the oil level figured out, but still don't like the mess from the occasional burp.

Sweet. No black rims on the new models? What brand of handguards are those? Yeah the Krapoo's are pretty crappy tires. lol

Right, the new models have silver excel wheels, while I preferred the look of the black, I like that they are excel now. As for the hand guards they are moose contour guards with their standard deflector, I believe they are also sold as an enduro engineering product. They are my favorite hand guard for the combination of price/performance.

Krieg, do you still have your 449 ?
Traded my 449 for the TC 250. I may regret it. May not. So far the TC has been quite entertaining. It starts almost as good as my dialed-in 2010 TC 250. The low end is much better. The handling is the same. I only have 2 rides on it and it's not even close to being broken-in so I will withold judgement till I can wring its neck!.
