    TE = 4st Enduro & TC = 4st Cross

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your 4 stroke bikes!

Yes, Ca. I live
on Vandenberg AFB, right on the coast just north of Lompoc.VAFB is the third largest AFB in the world. We have over 45 miles of coast line that is mostly uninhabited. There is plenty of roads and trails all over base that are open to registeted vehicles. The base security forces are cool for the most part and as long as you are not violating restricted areas or blazing new trais will let you ride in peace. These pics are on top of tranquillion peak, the highest point on base. It is truely a motorcycle playground

Surf paradise too!
I surf many a time at Silo's no one out for miles with non- stop over head barrels. Of course I had to access the break on my dirt bike holding my surfboard under my arm.

Sunday ride to Jalama Beach with the guys. Check the Guzzi out!

Believe me it was easier riding up the creek,no grip at all on trail.
Strengths-comfortable on road sections and trail, tank range,it got everywhere other focused bikes got to (eventually!),weaknesses-a bit heavy in certain terrains and situations and at 150kgs a bit of a (back) pain to pick up a few times during day,but all in all a good all rounder (and still is).

I am a horrid photographer (as is evident below), and waited to post up some photos until completing a few mods on my 2012 TE 310 that I bought as a leftover back in February. I made use of the many excellent suggestions on the HC and here some pretty inexpensive changes that I have made so far.photo-2.JPGphoto-3.JPG .

Sicass Racing flush mount rear LED signals as well as their handguards with integrated front turn LED signals. I trimmed off most of the rear under-fender and added two inexpensive LED license-plate bolts for rear running lights. Motosportz bar riser kit, which is great if you like to ride standing and are on the tall side, and G2 Throttle tamer. I swapped out the stock 40 tooth rear sprocket for a 50 tooth Renthal, added a reusable oil filter, and a Doubletake foldable mirror.

How long did it take you to get the wheels and are your apex rotors ok?

About thre and a half weeks or so, around a month. The Apex are OK I guess, the front being a full floating rotor, I am expierencing a weird pulsing that I dont get on my street bikes with floating rotors, I guess it is somewhat normal, I only really notice it when coming to a stop, in the twisties just braking for the corners it is not noticeable. I at first though it might be a bent rotor, but just spining the wheel static it sure looks like the rotor is true. There is no hole for the speedo magnet either. I got rare earth magnet from the craft section at wal mart, about the size of a small watch battery and with a dab of superglue it has held for 300 or so miles, but the speedo is way fast, but at least it gives me an idea of when I need gas.

You got yours way faster then i got mine, i was atleast a week over a month, and thank you for mentioning the magnet for the speedo, ive been wondering about that, might have to try a speedo corrector.

Let me know when you get yours if you feel that pulsing in your front brake too. I am running a brand new set of EBC Sintered Metal pads, so it could not be glazed pads or something. I also ordred right direct from Warp 9 to eliminate the middle man, paid a little more, but saved in the long run as shipping was only 20$ and I paid no CA sales tax
