• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your vintage Husqvarna bikes!

Here is some pictures of my Husky 400 WR 1987. I bought it in 2006 and restoring it piece by piece doing wintertime here in sweden. It is a slow project , due to the fact that Huskydealers know how to do big buisness of our interest in those bikes. The motor are restored in 2005, and my job is to change and restore the rest of the bike. Collecting originalpieces so it become nearly 100% original.

Doing the Swedish spring/summer and autumn, this bike are driven at daily basis in different Swedish typically woods and landscapes. Im proud and glad this is a Swedish bike, and enjoy the thought that i use it in its thrue invirement, what it was build for :)

Some bonus attached to it are the fact that it has papers saying im legally can drive it in the Swedish traffic. The face of the police every time they stop me, are nice to watch :) 156408_10150869863540929_899459104_n.jpg

I would if I had wheels, I got thermals y'know. I don't got wheels, they are away being re-tweaked. I just fitted a 15t front sprocket so I got 15-48 now. Making up some Ti spindles while the wheels are out. Postman just delivered my rejected reg docs this minute. Got to phone Monday, insurance runs out Thursday so will be £100 down. Fecking balls.

That would light up your day for sure. Great looking jet! I like the look of the Gloster Meteor but they were such a dog. We had a Sabre do a display here at the Bendigo field years ago, a bit of a flyby (strip is way to short!) Anyway the pilot flamed out the hoofer and down she came. managed to dead stick it and pull it up!. They took it away on a truck.
Looking at a cooler day here today as we had 27 yesterday, too dusty to ride dirt bikes:( I will pull out the tailshaft from the Monaro and replace the rear gbox seal. might strip the forks out of the 300 as a seal has let go and i managed to reassemble the 400 (here is something about a husky) with the kickstart in the right place and the water pump not leaking:eek:. just need the shox to be fixed and its a goer! Tallarook Vinduro here i come...hopefully i will need "toimels" (new york speakfor thermals) have agreat day tomorrow

On Craigslist is Knoxville, TN area, listed as a 1982 MX 250, obviously not that, looks like a 1980 390CR. Price is $550.

the friend that bought this was planning to sell it
anyone interested
has had 1 ride and was going for the second when it kicked back, he is an antique himself and it destroyed his ankle
he will keep his 74 400 as he can still start it

I freshened up my brothers 87 430XC
it was a good looking bike
I bought a 93 360 and he decided he wanted one too
so I sold this to a friend, he still enjoys it
freshened up the engine, replaced most of the plastic, fresh tires, etc
you get the idea

look at the pipe, had to trim the front fender to fit
