• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Post up pictures of your vintage Husqvarna bikes!

awesome video . you still have the internal rotor ignition on it aye ? def sounds like it

bigger fuel line and filter solved this problem on my 82 cr 500 . it would go lame if i wound out through 2 3 4 . but not do it in one particular gear . guess the old owner never wound it it out . he also told me you couldnt kick start it . soon proved that wrong

on my bike the fuel tap and the spigot on the carb are both 3/8 size . well 3/8 fuel line fitted on them good . make sure ur fuel tap is clear also etc

Yupp. Still the stock ignition. Or maby not.
I have 120w system for the lightning and I guess they are two different systems.

The filter in the tank is removed completely now and i have measured it to flow 36L/H, but its just not enough when I drive it on the road.
And for me who take the bike to the track it is a major issue.
Anyway, I have ordered a fuelpump and I bought the bigger one that flows 65L/H.

Okay.
Went to the track last Friday and with the new carb (PWK39) the bike runs great.
Now the old tires is my next problem.
The front one is made 2005, and the rear 2002.
They where quite bad so to say.
And some overheating in the front brake so I need to order a oversize front disc.

Is that a muffler on the back or a multi barrelled rocket launcher???

Its a multi barreled rocket muffler.
On this track in Norway your bike is not allowed to have a higher noise than 100dB at a certain rpm.
And in Sweden it is as low as 95dB.

With the stock silencer the bike is abou 105 at idle.
With my FMF Turbincore 2 it around 99 dB at idle.
And with the Rocket muffler (Stock 1997 ZX6R silencer) its right under 100 at around 3000 rpm.
