Everfree, buy it and give it the love cause it'll be well worth it.
As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Please follow up with the rebuild process; I'm keenly interested in the connecting rod update. Thanks and that's one good looking bike!!
Thanks for all the replies and likes - I had what turned out to be an ignition problem (just finished working on it).
There was an issue with the engine not revving out - I had the pit bike ignition fitted it was like it was hitting a rev limiter - it wouldn't rev out.
I know there are pit bike cdi's with and without advance curve but I could not find info on that spec wise when looking at the eBay listings of them for sale. I think this may be the issue with that set up in my bike.
I refitted the original CDI & Coil pack - and it fired ! Surprisingly - as it wasn't giving out out spark when I was rebuilding the bike which sent me on the pit bike CDI route in the first place.
Started it 3 times looks like I may have found some luck.
Fingers crossed it holds up on the first ride in the next few weeks.
some motoplats run a long time. once proven, of course, i trust them. just finding an old one and seeing it had spark it would take a few sessions to trust i guess.Don't go riding on your own old Motosplatt and SEM quite often don't like getting warm!
fatbar mount.
Here are the fatbar mounts, they are tall and cheap
