• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Was running 3rd novice at the check before this happened. Went up a narrow trail beside a water fall and some how got off balance at the top while parallel with the water fall and down I went. Held on to the left side of the bars while my body went over the drop and out came the shoulder. Then I fell about ten feet down the water fall. Luckily the bike stayed at the top some how. Had to hike about 4 miles out of the canyon I was in. Jump on a quad for another ten then an hour and a half back into town. Didn’t want to put it back in without knowing if anything was broken because my hand and forearm were very numb and I could barely move my hand. A week and a half later I still have a ton of discomfort in the muscles surrounding my shoulder almost like they are torn or something. Have to go back to the doc in about three weeks to see what happens from there. I guess that’s how it goes sometimes.

Thank you! Already got the bike taken care of, now hopefully I can ride within a month or so before winter really comes on. Unfortunately there is two more races in the local series before the year is out that I will more than likely miss, one of which is in two weeks. I’m just hoping there’s not other damage involved haha

This was at a short lived track in Boscobel Wisc. It had some really awesome hills and one huge dropaway that you did not want to jump off - you could float off it and do a Doug Henry

Been there done that, both shoulders, both snowboarding. A few years back I was in a tangle at a race and the left one popped out. I threw it back in and finished the race. That was the one I was really careful with at the hospital when I was a kid. One day they will both go under the knife. Hope yours heals up. Stick with the PT exercises and you'll get better.

Thanks noobee. Still waiting on an mri because my doc was an idiot and didn’t order one on my first visit than says in hindsight probably should have but he believes with my symptoms and a nerve test that was conducted I might have a torn rotator cuff and some other issues too but don’t know for sure until the mri. The whole outside of my shoulder is really numb as well. Fingers crossed but it hasn’t got much better at all and it’s been almost two months. Very limited movement and almost no strength. Maybe around 20 percent or so. Can’t reach behind or above at all and a bit of pain when I do. It’s all good though. I still can work for the most part and with the weather I don’t ride as much in the winter. Just hope I’m up and rolling before racing season starts up. Went riding for a few minutes the other day just to cruise a little. It’s hard to keep it at just cruising though.....
