• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Apparently the Enduro jacket isn't yet available - the factory are quoting mid April so if we are shipping from UK we'd have to make a decision on whether we part ship or hold the whole lot for a couple of weeks to include the jackets also.Dave

I have enough riding equipment now, if we want to wait a few more weeks for the jackets to be ready.

1 vote to wait.

Sorry for delay in responding, week hasn't gone to plan...

We are pretty much good to go with a bulk order deal from the UK however I've PM'd Kelly to see if he can get the same gear from Pro Grip USA. If he can then it makes sense for him to handle it in the US as it will be much easier for shipping, returns etc.

Once I've made contact with Kelly then I guess one of us will update the thread with the next step.

Dave

Got your PM and sent you some info, thanks.

Were not looking to step on any toes. Personally i would rather not deal with apparel at all. It is a huge PITA and expense and no one ever seems overly happy with the cost and the designs are hugely subjective. We were really doing this just to support our customers. If Dave has it covered I'm cool with that although shipping to all the US customers might get costly. We are getting more Sinisalo gear in and working on the ProGrip stuff. Not wild over any of it. I have also found people jump saying they want them then when it comes time to buy about 30% do so. Not a knock on anyone just facts. It is a huge hassle and expenditure and we still feel like the prices are way high and we have to offer them higher than we want to. Initial cost, shipping, import duties, massive paper work, lack of communication in other languages... it's real fun stuff :D

Joe, we have talked of doing this (having some manufactured) and it is a possibility.

thanks all, we will get something worked out.

Hey Kelly I can appreciate time and effort that you have to put into this.

It's quite easy to sit back and type to all, I want this I want that.
Only to have people bail at the last minute and you're stuck with product.
(White tee shirts come to mind)
May I suggest a $100 retainer from anyone that wants the Husky ride apparel.
That would help with initial cost and show good faith.

Paypal works right? Just say the word.

I appreciated the suggesting but I don't want to go there. We will get it sorted. Thanks

I did contact bikebandit and they tell me it is US sizing. They list pants at US sizes anyway. Not sure about this Husky stuff though.

Augh! Then I want a size 30 pair of pants to go with my small jersey....:banghead:

Honestly...it's too rich for my blood (especially the jersery, which I will quickly fall on and rip!), but I would be interested in what Joe could produce and come up with.

The first jersey with all the logos looks much better without them.

Kelly, lots of people are wondering if it is the Team Stuff or just regular red/white Progrip gear?

Team stuff I am into. Regular stuff not so much.

I second that...and will wait for things to firm up a bit.....

Motosportz- is there an update on the gear?

Recently Husky Sport has become a sponsor on Cafe Husky (Davep01) and is offering this product line directly from the UK. Kelly may also be making announcements and offering things in the future but for the time being I would go to this thread:
http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2380

We stopped working on it when we heard HuskySport was going to be providing it. Never heard what came of that. Prices ended up being very high.

the gear will be coming to the US
When? is the question. The non-Husky Team / regular 2009 line of ProGrip gear still hasn't shown up on our shores yet and here it is mid-June. I need a blue Top Line jersey to go with the pants they gave me.

edit: I take that back. The regular line showed up this week.

We've supplied a small amount, more casual clothing than riding kit. As Motosportz says the price of the factory kit is high (due to poor exchange rate £ to €) so we were never going to be swamped with orders.
