  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Recommended Oil for TXC310R 2013

ThanxAndrew!

Think you sold me on it. I have been running Mobil 0-40 euro based off of Tinken in both the 310 and Tc 250.

I change oil if it even looks like getting dark. But also there seems to be hardly anything on the magnet drain plugs.

Anyone running this?
It's pretty close to OEM suggestion but 5/40 ?

I'm hard headed. I'm still running the Castrol 10/50 4T Racing. I think with the hot temps. the heavier oil will give a little better protection!? I don't know, just my semi-educated guess. It works well with my Rekluse EXP 3.0 but, I think the 5w/40 or the 0w/40 would work a little better with the EXP but, once again, just a guess. I'm like you as for as the oil changes go. I do it about every other ride. If it gets darker I change it. I've never been a big fan of sight glasses but, this one works for me. Rex

The 0W40 is superior for heat dispersion, per the manufacturer. I would have thought that heavier oil would cool better under extreme heat but according to research it doesn't. Must be that the bikes oil pump has to work harder with a heavier oil which equals less oil flow and higher oil pressure and the slower flowing oil has a better chance to overheat. That's my understanding in a nut shell. The 0w40 oil flows easier through the moving parts causing reduced friction and better heat dispersion.
