As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Well, the date came and went, so I called last week. They said on the day I called they would likely ship that day, or Friday, or Monday at that latest. I should have put together that Monday was a holiday and that wasn't going to happen. So I just called, they said whoever I talked to (I didn't remember) didn't give accurate information. Said latest dates are this week or next. Oh well, they seemed to have a much clearer idea when I ordered and got all the updates but the last.

The Sw-Motech design is unique (I think) in that it uses the rear engine mounting bolt to attach. You have to pull the left side peg bracket to get at the bolt, those screws were in with red thread locker. 56nm torque going back in.

Yes, but be careful with the Touratech. The RH rear arm has a sharp edge that can cut into the casing if it rotates up. You must trim the sharp edge at an angle so it clears the casing. I also added some washers on the mount to push it farther outboard. I was able to burnish out the small cut I got in the casing. I would not recommend using a lift or a stand under the skid plate.
I noticed that and did both corrective actions......I also would not lift it up on the pan....Easy to get off to clean/change oil.

Have you tried the SW-Tech skid plate with a lift yet?
Did not try my jack. It's a sears "Yellow Jack" motorcycle lift, I think it will work fine. On the road for work for a week, but will try it when I get home. I see no reason that it won't 'just work.'

Finally got some time to mess with the bike. Put it up on my jack, it works just fine. The outside front to back dimension of the jack is 12.5", I know many of you use dirt bike stands, not sure what the typical dimensions are. The most important thing is to keep your jack inside of the rear brake, otherwise you'll end up sitting on the brake lever.
It's really solid on the up on the jack. There wasn't really a good spot for the crossbars without the skid plate, now it's butter.
And a quick plug for the Sears 'Yellow Jack." It's served me well, lifted all sorts of bikes, including beasts likes the near 1/2 ton HD electra glide. It's never surprised me, always seems happy to help. They go on sale a couple of times a year, I paid $99.
