As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Um.. it would add 3 hp. Giving a total of around 36hp. Adding a powercommander would put it into the stock range of a 449.
Haha. Santa is bringing TC449 FMF Megabomb and Husqvarna factory race exhaust (4.1 Factory similar).Hey Tinken, what is your current exhaust set up? Is Santa bringing you the FMF?
is that the set up that will give you 95db?Haha. Santa is bringing TC449 FMF Megabomb and Husqvarna factory race exhaust (4.1 Factory similar).
Yes, they are the same diameter, just the two 45° bends on the TE/TXC's. My exhaust system is going to have to wait for now, but I will be ordering the FMF Q4 with the mega bomb header (TC449) which will put the TE511 @ 95 dB (96dB is the absolute limit here in Socal).
I am confused by what Tinken said "but I will be ordering the FMF Q4 with the mega bomb header (TC449) which will put the TE511 @ 95 dB (96dB is the absolute limit here in Socal)."
I just got off the phone with Bryce at FMF. He said the only thing they have that will fit my 2011 TXC 511 is the Power Core 4 muffler. They do not have a header for my bike. Does this sound right? Should I call back and ask somebody else?

You get a little more top end power out of the 4.1, but the Q4 is WAY quieter.
If you are in the US, I think you will find these prices much more affordable compared to FMF.
Yes. I'd stick with stainless steel on the header too.I definitely need quiet, so I should purchase the MegaBomb Header for a TC449 and the Q4 for the same TC449? This will be good for 2011-2012 TE 449 & 511?
These fit the TE 250/310s and yield an additional 3hp, about the same amount as the MY13's add to the '12s.
FMF #045491 US $179.96
3 hp? really? From a header?
The science behind the Megabomb header may be our greatest engineering accomplishment to date. You can bolt on a Megabomb with an existing FMF Racing slip on for as much as a 3hp boost, plus the Megabomb actually reduces noises levels by as much as 1.5dB. The Megabomb technology is revolved to produce more low end to mid range gains as well as broadening out the mid to top end power gains over stock. The Megabomb is best used for Motocross/Supercross and GNCC style trails. Used by Factory Teams, the Megabomb is the next level technology you can have today.
http://www.fmfracing.com/Products/MX/264The redesigned PowerBomb is a four-stroke header that incorporates FMF’s patented PowerBomb module at a precise location in the initial stage of the header. By positioning this “Bomb” at a key point in the system, increased performance and flow is achieved through the expansion and contraction of exhaust sonics through the system. Result is a flow increase of nearly 10%! The outer chamber in the Powerbomb allows the air to expand, cool and ramp back up at a higher velocity.
Additionally, the PowerBomb is a “pre-muffler” of sorts which helps to lower the bikes sound output by providing more sound absorbing surface area for the sound medium (exhaust gases). On some models, you can choose between a moto or supercross version. The supercross version is designed for more low to mid-range power where the moto version is focused in the mid to upper RPM range.
Here is a 2011 TXC511 with the FMF megabomb installed and Factory exhaust.

HEHEHE That's my bike....yes I have the Mega and the FMF pip. That is Ty's place at ZipTy Racing. Actually...my bike is the other TXC511 they had but I have that exhaust. I can get more close up photos if you want.
It's a factory silencer, powercore4 doesn't fit on a megabomb header. For a TE, Q4 would be my choice, but TC/TXC would be better off with Factory 4.1RC.
