  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So is Pro-Form the best pipe out there?

I've got a full set of 83 Maico 490 Sand Spider graphics.
Maybe I'll build a bike around that graphics..lol

works for me... Thanks Bill.... when Christmas Fund Spending Lightens up , we will be talking. Thanks for your PM!

Hi fran, thanks. I may go the Dynopart route. I spoke with Jemco and he said he could build me a trick pipe for my 175 if i sent him the old 1.
Thank you for the info.

Bill,

Hope all is going well with the Maicos, bought some stuff from you when was rebuilding the '86 500 M-Star. Are the 175 & 250 the same basic pipe ? I live a couple of miles from Jemco and could drop-off my pristine '83 250CR as have been thinking of having him build one using the HP Factory mods. Thanks--Rhett

Hi Rhett, Maico business going fairly well. Really picked up in the last month. To answer your question, no they are different. Let me know, I may have him build me a 83-250 pipe.
thanks and take care
Bill

Hey Bill, If so put me down for one for sure. If EC does will he build it to Husky Service Bulletin #8-111 ? that would be sweet as I have a new modded jug/piston kit and PC Boost bottle kit to build up a Andy "Bro Show" Jefferson replica.

Rhett, I meant I have Jemco build me a pipe. would love to have Eric build for me, but he wont without a bike. If you get Jemco to build, I would show him this pic. Bad ass PC pipe I think..

I will make you all a offer. I will pay half of the price for a Pipe and silencer from Maico only if you can supply a good running 83 250 to Eric Cook for prototyping a pipe.(Proform Racing in Ontario Cali) WR, XC, or a CR..Thank you..

Bill, I bought it from Leftcoast Kicker so not sure. If I lived close I'd drop the '83 off .....there's got to be some out there. Check with Leftcoast he might know if any are around there.

I have an 83 wr250 near Sacramento. Where do we need to get this bike? Not promising I can do it anytime soon, but I'd like to hear the info and ideas.

Even crazier thought: I'd like to get some 430 pipes made. It would not be hard for me to throw together an 81/82 frame and engine case, cylinder, head mock-up for a pipe builder to work from.
