  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Strange Dyno result on my TE449 -11

You're right, but there should be no need for the AP. I can pin the throttle wide open from zero throttle at 2000 rpms and it does not sputter at all.
Something else is going on here.

Do you also have the Akra race/alternative exhaust on yours? See earlier pictures for which I mean on my bike.
Hopefully I have some time to play with the settings on my JD Tuner tomorrow. Rains a lot here right now, so might not be able to.
Gonna try to first richen the AP low to mid setting and if that does not work I will richen low rpm setting and see what happens.

Thank you all for all your ideas and efforts. Much appreciated and I hope I repay by giving you all clues to how I solve my problems.

I have a decatted stock pipe on my bike - so your dyno numbers should be the same or higher than mine if everything is in order.

I had the blue/red AP setting at like 4 or 5 blinks, and the green / green blue at 3 or 3.5 or so.

Gonna check and post my exact JD setup as soon as I get a chance to check it.
Then we can compare.
My bike now makes a ton more power than during the dyno. A guesstimate is around 10-12 hp more than during dyno and hopefully 46-48hp on the wheel. Time will tell and as soon as I know I will post it here. =)

Allright.
This is the setup that I have been running so far on my JD Tuner with Akra Euro exhaust.

Range.............. Stock JD Tuner setting..... What I run at the moment
Green ............................4/5............................. 4/5
Yellow ...........................5/6............................. 6/7
Red ...............................6/7.............................. 4
Green/Blue ......................3.................................4
Yellow/Blue .....................4................................ 5/6
Red/Blue .........................5.................................3

Hope to be able to go out tomorrow and try other settings to get rid of the sputtering.
Also is waiting for a FMF Powercore 4 that hopefully will help freeing up the remaining hp all thru the registry in a month or so.

Got a little work done to the bike today in between the down pour.
Richened up the low range and low rpm AP setting.

Range.............. Stock JD Tuner setting..... What I run at the moment
Green ............................4/5............................. 4/5....which I changed to 5 today
Yellow ...........................5/6............................. 6/7
Red ...............................6/7.............................. 4
Green/Blue ......................3.................................4....which I changed to 4/5 today
Yellow/Blue .....................4................................ 5/6
Red/Blue .........................5.................................3

Those two mods seem to have solved the sputtering. Due to the rain and todays tight schedule I could not really test it for more than 5 mins,
but no sputtering during that time at least. Next ride is planned on saturday. Hope to get a good test run then. I will let you know.

Not much have happened here.
I have been out riding a couple of times and seems like flameout worsens when temperature rises outside.
Other than that the bike runs good and strong.
Also got my FMF Powercore muffler the other day. Gonna try to mount it and see what happens.
I will let you know as soon as I have done anything.

Got the PC4 mounted today and it is loud for sure. Gonna order a quiet insert to make it decent.
Tried to map it differently to get some more power out of it, but did not feel much difference.
Will try more when I get the quiet insert.
