• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

SWM is back

Prices in the Benelux. (Belgium and the Netherlands. The Netherlands is more expensive because of an extra tax):

RS 650R - B: 6.790 € / NL: € 7.690

Belgium's price... that's $7532 (as of July 3) in US dollars. Even if they wiggle that upwards for shipping, etc,... pricing like that will sell motorcycles. SWM needs to get moving on US imports before the Euro rebounds. This bike, and a two stroke trail bike, are on my shopping list.

On an unrelated note, a kidney is for sale on Ebay.

so wed be looking at around $10K for the 500 correct Boogie? hmm interesting. how good were those 500 motors-reliability wise? powerful wernt they? the 300 was a sleeved down 450 yes so heavy?

Nope you're looking at 7212 dollar. Say 8k with the shipment and such.

AUS dollars Erik? ideally id like a mid size 4T(cant believe im writing this hope OMG doesnt see:o) but the sleeved down 300 lacks appeal to me somewhat & a 500 would be fun for smashing some long distance rides on! $200 price difference bugger all too. even more interesting!

Oh sorry, no Merican Dollar. 9571 AUD, so 10k indeed.

youre killing me erik. i was nursing half a semi at the price you said:D. id reckon they wouldnt wanna be any more expensive than that here as the betas are only(only WTF!) $12k here. sub $10K is a big psychological factor for some & easier to help persuade the missus. all of a sudden $9990 becomes 'honey its a steal at 9 grand'. she wouldnt be concerned with that extra $990 would she & i hate to worry her pretty little head:lol:

plus the old huskies were being run out for $6-$9K(model dependent obviously) so would be a hard sell for a chinese engined bike that is the same thing only more expensive than 2 years ago. bring out the 250/300 for $8K so i can sell the wr300 & buy a SWM then swap all my bits straight over! yeah baby

Yeah my math said 9500 - 9999. They should definitely be under 10k here (4500-5000 cheaper than a FE501)

I had a 09' txc510. Beast! Not a snappy engine but loads of torque and got the power to the ground.

i thought they were using the old school mikuni efi engines with twin headers not the xlite ones(these wernt just big bore)? or are the old 300s bored 250s? sorry confused

"Motocross racing in Europe by 2016. And there’s a lot more to come; Shineray envisages a range of off-road racing, street and adventure models, including a 900 cc multi cylinder engine available by 2018. If we are to speculate, an evolution of the Husqvarna Nuda 900 twin inescapably comes to mind."

yeah all good mate jus kiddin. keep us informed on all things swm erik, I for one appreciate it:thumbsup: curious as to who will be dealers for these bikes in Oz as doubt theyd be going to a jap/Austrian bike dealer? really curious as to warranty & OTD ride away prices here too!
